This is absolutely STUNNING! I want one exactly like this so bad! Those doors & cabinets are so gorgeous! I love the overhead door setup out in the shop area too. The overhead door I had when I had a similar shop house (rental) not long ago was a roll up style & a chore to pull with a chain coming or going, so this style is way more convenient & I absolutely love the automatic locking mechanism too. Good job! 👌

That's the first time I've ever heard a contractor say the garage door is the weak link when it comes to wind. He is absolutely correct! Garage doors and large overhangs are spots which are frequently attacked and decimated by tornados. Good to know you beef up the doors!

love your vids, it looks like you have an amazing company and are a great guy too. maybe do a video on the advantages of one of these type of homes vs standard construction. I don't miss that type of drywall texture in that part of the country that is so popular. I grew up in texas and that is what everyone seems to have. wholly smooth is what they use around where I live now. greatly preferred.

Very nice except, I would have a wall island/breakfast bar extend from the refrigerator to divide the living area a bit from the kitchen, cook top range with a double wall oven and smooth walls or just a light orange peel, not textured. Love the way the sink and counter top is cut to overhang the sink edges. The window over the sink could be another 10 to 14 inches wider. Very nice cabinets and color choices.

You can’t get a new trailer house for 50k!! You can’t even build this yourself, to Erik’s quality, even doing the work yourself for that. I don’t know Erik’s vendors pricing but just for an example the kitchen with the custom Alder cabinets, copper sink, good appliances, custom hood vent, etc and your looking at 25k right there and that doesn’t include the walls, roof, and floor in that area, it’s only the cabinets/appliances and I may be low on that cause it’s been several years since I retired building. Your dilusional to think you could build and finish one to similar quality for 50k, and that’s fact buddy!!

I have a question at 11:42 the outside of bar so s Shows gutters dropping off right at the wall with that make water go underneath the foundation why didn't you bury them about 10 feet out my home inspector says that water should never say that close to the house. Water will hit ground and run off. The ground is sloped off so that it happens. Many customers collect the water so it’s an easy attachment point.

It won’t open up further. It’s a very small crack, but crack absorbs the stain, which makes it look bigger than it is.

Don Pfeiffer Interiors are all very dark. The windows are generally too small and too few in number. It’s even worse than what you’d expect on a congested city lot. It’s easy to tell these are based on DIYers’ ‘custom designed’ ideas and cutting too many corners to save $. In one of these kinds of videos the owner described how the salesman was also the architect. He suggested a window here and another one there. It sure looked like it too!

Nope, we are not architects. Go look at all of our builds, especially Barndo 163 and 214. Those have a lot of windows. We build to our customers specs and desires.

Frank Gutowski it really doesn’t matter tho what you and I think Frank, they aren’t our homes and from what I’ve seen the owners are absolutely thrilled and happy with them so until you and I write the checks to Erik it really doesn’t matter what our opinions are but I do know that if Erik was building one for you and you wanted bigger windows and more of em and you wanted skylights then he’d happily put them in. Erik has said In numerous videos in the past that he sends all of his clients to a design company that does the layout and all of his drawings to build off of and I don’t know if they have an architect in the company or just draftsman who produces the buildable plans but they would be the ones specing out the windows with input from the owners. I’m not trying to argue with you at all either frank so I hope you don’t take it that way. We all have different styles, different tastes, etc. that’s what makes the world more interesting Brother. Many of these Barndo’s are second homes or vacation homes too and im sure some of that goes into the owners choices.

Don Pfeiffer The plans are probably edited by a draftsman or CAD operator and checked for code compliance. I suspect a lot of customers are familiar with these as service buildings on their farms or in their rural communities. It looks like this builder’s business model is based on tweaking existing plans and sticking with off-the-shelf components to save as much time and $ as possible. I know an architect who built what he called an “8 foot house”: the components and the grid were 8” in order to minimize labor. It looked really good. It cost less to build and sold for a higher $/sf than comps because of how it was sited and designed.
