As a designer and guitarist, I was pissed when I found this, that I didn’t think of this myself. This truly is the best support out there and I doubt really see a way to improve on it.

Thanks for the review. I believe that there is a button you can push with your thumb in order to tilt the guitar without making that "clack" sound.

I just ordered mine, these days it's called a Sagework Atlas. I hope it's going to be better than my current Ergoplay.

My one test of this so far-- very stable and adaptable and more reliable than the Sageworks suction guitar support I've used for decades. However, the magnets are VERY powerful and kind of dangerous. When I went to install them permanently, I tried to follow instructions to a T and was very conscious of the warnings that come with the magnets. I still injured myself. I was holding one set of magnets preparing to install it inside the guitar. The other set was resting on a surface several inches away. Suddenly they snapped together, injuring my finger. I had tested them out previously and really liked the stability but am concerned about having magnets inside the guitar permanently. Something needs to neutralize them when the guitar support isn't attached or you have to worry about keeping any kind of steel or metal objects away from the guitar, for instance, in your pants pockets if you happen to play the guitar without the support attached...I also worry about any steel in guitar case locks as you put the guitar away... ...Just a thought....I wonder if anyone has used this long enough to make recommendations or offer warnings....

Any impact on the sound of the guitar? Do the magnets dampen resonance or such?

hello. I wanted to ask you what dimensions the magnets are. My guitar has some bars on the side and I want to know if I can use those magnets. Can you measure the magnets and tell me what their dimensions are? thank you very much and sorry for the inconvenience

Will those magnets stay there after a year or two and if they do not then where we can buy those stickers ?
@Thisisclassicalguitar6 жыл бұрын
I'd be more worried about the magnet bouncing around inside the guitar. I haven't heard of anyone having issues though.

You may already have one, but I’ve used this now for almost ten years without shifting magnets till just today, by choice. (I needed to replace due to a change in posture.) It would have been just fine had I kept it where it was. The adhesive strips are 3M “Command” strips, medium size. Super cheap at Target, Walmart, Amazon, etc. they came off easy with no stick or damage, after TEN YEARS! I highly recommend this product. Mr. Barnett has saved back posture. Note: the magnets did start to shift around *slightly* on their adhesive strips over time, but it did not affect my playing. But now you know it’s easy as pie to remove and replace! Get this thing! (If you haven’t already). :)

Nice review. The Barnett support looks very high end & must be at least $100? BTW nice guitar too. What is it?

Shame no information supplied on the range of positions it enables, when used on either leg and in different positions along the side of instrument.

would this work on an electric guitar? because I own a sc solidbody and playing in the classical position isn't that forgetful for long sessions

Have you noticed this support affecting the sound of your Marcus Dominelli guitar? Canadian eh?
@Thisisclassicalguitar7 жыл бұрын
I no longer have my Dominelli guitar but the support did not affect the sound in any significant way. If anything, having less coverable on the guitar (the leg) made it vibrate more freely...but again barely noticeable if at all.
@robertsmith40197 жыл бұрын
Great, thank you. I see that there's a newer version of this support.

Would it work on an electric guitar?
@spacedacewithnoface44009 жыл бұрын
+Best Audio Unless your electric guitar is hollow, and had thick enough sides to have the entire magnet side of the support fit. You'd also need to be able to get your hand inside of the instrument too. All of that being said, I feel slightly comfortable saying no, probably not.

Nice video and nice channel. Allright, so onw thing you didin't mention is the acustic side. I know that putting anything in contact with the guitar will affect the resonance. So many of the supports affect it in some way, and even your own leg qhen using foot stool .But this support also adds magnets inside the guitar, and i think the resonance will be even more affected. But who knows...

Getting those magnets inside the guitar is a bitch if you have an extended fretboard. You have to have hands of a 5 year old to get in there.

It feels weird to have a guitar support after being so used to a foot stool

Ya, I played with a footstool for 20 years but I'm now fully converted.
