Me too it’s so typical of the way they think. Playing is important I think to bonding with a large parrot. Notice he immediately goes to his human for moral support when he was afraid. It’s taken me years to be able to play with my large macaw. She’s been with ne since I rescued her at 10 months, she’s now been with me 34 years. It’s been just taking slow steps to show her how to touch me “nice” and still be able to play without hurting me. She likes to flip upside down on her shelf and wants me to tickle her. I can touch her and be playful now with my hand in her beak and she understands better how to play with a fleshy human without hurting. They play pretty rough with each other and have the beak and claws etc. I think they bite if they feel afraid or if they learned from another bird to “play” rough. Or a human inadvertently made mistakes in handling a bird like Barney. I’ve never had a cockatoo in my flock only mini macaws and conures as well as Rio B&G Macaw. I furthermore also live with Ozzie CAG he’s over thirty but I don’t know exactly when he was hatched. I rescued him 25 years ago . Thanks for giving us a literal birds eye view of life with a Moluccan cockatoo. Barney’s a very lucky bird.

As SOON as he put the snail in the cave he realized he flocked up. He doesn't want to grab it, but he doesn't want it in there. He can't "hello Barney" his way out of this one, because Dad's not allowed to put his hand in there. Valley Girl is just useless and laying on her backside as usual. Barney has to solve this himself. ...then Dad cheats at 5:10!! It did look like that toy was rattling him though. I'm surprised it still has a head.

That's a cute little crab, Barney. The colors really stand out on your feathers too. Just knew you were going to get it positioned just right in the cave where it would make the loud noise of the toothbrush but with wonderful disco lights. No doubt it will happen one day. I have not long come across Barney 💕 🦜 Not sure if you have a video on this already but I’d love to know more about him. How old is he? How you came to have him as a pet? If you’ve had other birds in the past? His likes and dislikes? His favourite foods/toy? Etc 😊 Edit: actually I’ve read the “Description” section which answers some of my questions. 30 years young!!
