One of the main reasons I don't watch HIMYF is that I know I will always compare it to HIMYM. Which will ruin the show for me. Even though the first season was okay, in my opinion, 10 episodes weren't enough for me to get invested in the cast. But with scenes like these show how great a proper spin-off can be. The original cast gives the new guys some good advice to be remembered but not enough to overshadow the new guys.

I genuinely feel like that's the people who saw the show recently. Watching him way back in 2010-11 to now. As i have grown up myself. I can appreciate what wizard of a actor he is, that we know he is Barney. But he is not the barney we saw for all those years.

This is a satisfying answer for those saying that they undo Barney’s progress by getting him divorced. They clearly showed him fall in love on first sight with his daughter, stayed up all night caring for her, told off those girls at the last MacLaren scene, and now this. Sure, Robin shifted him, but his daughter (that probably wouldn’t even exist if he stayed with Robin) was the biggest shift to his world

I don't mind the divorce because I felt like there was a valid reason for it. The two drifted apart because Robin's career took up all of her time. That happens to a lot of people. What I didn't care for was having Robin and Ted end up together as if that ever worked before. It was character degression for both of them.

The problem with that it’s that it’s lazy. The “character who has terrible habits but changes when they have kids” trope has been used countless times and it’s just lazy and boring. It was much better to see him change because he actually fell in love with someone.

I'm praying that by the end of the remaining 9 episodes of this season we get a cameo from Ted and Tracy. Season 2 takes place in 2023 and 2024 is the year Tracy dies, so this is really our last opportunity to get more scenes of them together and they're so perfect that it'd be such a waste if we didn't get it.

This clip makes even more sad HIMYF. You can see the star of the old show, one of the most talented actor, comedian of our age in a cameo role. And the acress who supposed to be the main character in the new series, putting everything into context. And she feels like a junior actress in some cheap series or in an improvisation section in a late night show, while Neil Patrick Harris feels like a pro actor. I really don't know how it happened. If the script, the director, the actress, the cameraman made it so bad. But it does not feel natural, entertaining. So sad
