We are to judge others, accordingly by their sins. But as soon as we make a conjunction to winning/losing, we are reeled back into our own worldly ways.

I was lucky enough to grow up with a show where they would do this quiz show at the end. If you answered correctly, great, you would be one step closer to winning. If your answer was wrong they dropped goo on your head and called you a loser. Those were the days.

I agree. I don't like PC (politically correct) people. They drive me insane! They are more AR. Can you guess what that is? And people complaining about sexism get on my nerves. We are not all the same. Men and women have different roles because we were designed that way. Men are better at some things and women are better at others but only working together can we accomplish the most. Grow up, people!! Thank you.

Mr Rogers was not a green beret he just happen to wear long sleeves he was a Presbyterian minister his whole life. Never even served in the armed forces. However he did come out of the studio to find his car stolen then two days later came back and found it 29th a note attached, saying "if we knew it was yours, we would have never stolen it" but no. No tattoos or anything like that.

Mr. Rogers drove an Oldsmobile. There was a rash of cars stolen all throughout Pittsburgh one time. When the car thieves found out the car was his they left a note saying, "Sorry, Fred. Didn't know it was yours".

@CrystalSnowfire ...things. First: "Be all muscle and blood and fight this because your a mindless idiot who can cope!" or... Second: "Be strong because you have a wife and children to return to, and you can't leave me without defense on the battlefield. Hold your honor and fight this!" One is good, one is not, to say the phrase is all bad is incorrect, to say the phrase is all good is incorrect, to say the phrase can be good or bad depending on context: Correct.

Barney: "Why, we're all winners." What's that mean, 'we're all winners'? It means you tied. If you tied, nobody won. If nobody won, you're all losers. Classic. It's so funny how someone can say everybody won, and yet somehow they're all losers.

I loved the original Captain Kangaroo. Bob Keehsn also served in the Marine Corp. He said in his own words he was lucky, because before he would be sent to do any action, the war ended. But, a Marine is a Marine. So, I have 100 times more respect for Captain Kangaroo than that filthy barny.

I'd like to correct this. Be a Man thing. The reason feminists don't like the Be a Man thing is because the definition of what a man is. It's be violent, don't care about women, or too much about what they think, don't cry, and in general just be the perfect neanderthal. THAT is why Be a Man is shunned these days. It's not realistic and it can be distructive to a growing teen to hear that when they are finding themselves. I've never heard of Brads reason why before I saw this.

Like Lydia below said: " "we're all winners" gives the kids zero motivation. "I don't even have to try because I'll still win!"" This is what the problem with society is. Let's not try! Because I'll be pampered and loved anyway regardless of how dumb, or worthless I let myself become in reality, because we're ALL winners!. Why do you think kids these days have almost no motivation? Or why so many are un employed? It's not JUST because of the economy or how it was, it's because kids think everything is gonna be handed to them. If you dropped anyone of the past 60 years into the old world, they wouldn't last a week because we've been all hammered into thinking everything is given to us without effort. We're ALL winners! This is why you see kids in school not doing as well anymore, or the schools having higher drop out rates, and lower grades on average over all, this is why they had to dumb down the curriculum to make those grades go back up, because kids aren't being pushed, or taught to THINK FOR THEMSELVES. Think, push yourself for god sakes. Now its NORMAL for a kid to be able to re take a test as many damn times as he needs to pass... When I was in school you didn't need that, because kids were taught to push themselves and learn, and do their best... Now they're taught, just do it, and if you fail oh well, try again tomorrow.. This is why society is going down the hole.

@CrystalSnowfire Where'd you get your definition? The feminists? A man should be strong, independent, able to support his family, willing to lay down his life for those he loves, care about women (especially their wives, but you know, don't hit females is a very good quality), and sure he might not cry much but that's okay. You have two soldiers on the battlefield. One gets shot and the other pulls him to safety and is cleaning his wound. He says, "Come on! Be a man!" He could mean one of two...

To dwell on the ideologue of "winners vs losers" outside of sports is vanity. It is a useless mentality that Satan perpetuates in our heads. Because we have to be right, and that is belied by our own ambition. Our pride for self-preservation is an indignity in itself, and thus, are we bound by this spiritual negligence. This spiritual neglect to understand that having honor, truth, and principle supercede success, winning, and earthly means of gain. For we have nothing in this world, for everything here is perpetually driven to separate us from God. Especially things that create inequity. We are to live in the world, but not be of the world. Unfortunately, Mr. Stine, you lost me. Then again, you are kind of a hypocrite by calling Christians out for "burning Harry Potter books", and now is the inconsistency in political correctness. You can't swing both ways, friend. You either are for Christian doctrine or for this "toughened/claudstine" act of tough love that so many stone-hearted, so-called Christians enforce. For the record, the Bible speaks against meanness, bullying, and competitive natures. God loves losers, he embraces them. Look at the Prodigal Son. Someone who spent his life in drags and shambles from frittering away the lot of his inheritance. But, in spite of this, his Father loves him. Do you know why? Because he is not there to push his son, nor think about himself. He is there to love his son despite his fallings. But the other Brother calls the Father out on this, out on "why take him in, you are a weak man if you think not pushing him will be enough". Yes, Mr. Stine, too many are like you-the condemning, mean Brother who doesn't want to guide so much as throw them out into reality. The only reason why reality is harsh is because of sin, not some commodity of losing comfort or peace. Real growth comes from the realization thqt you will never havr confidence, as it is a made up word created by people who dont need God. They can make their way in the world, "as self-made" pioneers of industry, but these folk will never know God. The Self is not of God, it is this malevolent, derisive, and critical thing that wants to divide, as much as conquer. Human, sinful nature justifies and deputizes its own actions with word of mouth, which becomes law. God doesn't matter in the real world, the only thing that matters are results, performance, and success. Well, here is a reality check: Do you think God measures your life by success, or by virtue? By good deeds, productivity, or by the principle to adhere to his Word?
