Amazing patches as ever Mark. i have only recently bought a Wavestate and it's an amazing synth, so versatile and deep. Your patches are the best I have heard for this amazing synth and I had already bought patch sets 1 to 3 and just halfway through this set I had to go and buy this one, will have to go and have a look at set 5 now as well. @@Angelstarscotland I'm sure there are a lot of unhappy people out there now thanks to Dawsons... I'm still waiting for the credit card company to sort out the money. Lucky for me the Synth God's have smiled down on me this past week... first the minilogue arrived, then came a big update to the MODX, then the major update to the MC-101 ZENcore, and then I got the news that my usual (and trusted) supplier [BAX] had some how managed to get me a Wavestate 7-8 weeks earlier than expected (now in transit, will be here early next week) and my MPC ONE should be here in the next 2-3 weeks (again several weeks ahead of expectation & other suppliers) ! Lesson learnt - should have stuck with the supplier I knew and trusted vs the one offering me an extra £20 discount ! Hopefully the others in the same situation will also get some good luck coming their way real soon. Best Regards, Axel.

I purchased Cinemtica Vol.2, used the libraririan to install the patches. They appear in the librarian but no new category or collection was created on the Wavestate. My firmware is at ver. 1.4, and I'm using Windows 10 64 bit, release 1909.

cool sounds any drums you can create also or are they all preprogrammed?

the drums on the patches in my volumes 2-4 are all programmed by me. In volume 1 I used some factory content (drum beats etc) in my performances. Saying that though, personally I don’t think the Wavestate is good for drum beats, traditional pattern sequencing is much better for programming drum beats rather than Wavesequencing.

thanks for your question, I’ve never owned an original Wavestation but I’ll try to answer your question based on what I’ve been led to believe. Just to clarify there’s no Wavetables in the Wavestate it’s PCM samples. The Wavestate contains all the original Wavestation sample data as well as a lot more that you don’t find on the original. I believe also that the lane system for Wave-sequencing is far more complex and can be randomised far more than the original. A criticism of the original Wavestate was the wave sequences became very repetitive. Then there’s all the various modelled filter types, really in-depth modulation routings and a rather amazing onboard fx engine. So the answer to your question is yes and no I believe. If you desire it to sound like the original Wavestation you can easily make it sound that way, I think some of the presets have been designed based on the original, however it can also do a lot the original couldn’t dream of doing. Korg haven’t cloned/done a remake of their 90s machine, rather they have taken their basic concept of Wave sequencing from the original and completely reimagined it for 2020.

you make nice performances. I've listened to all 4 sets. My only criticism is that you seem to want to make the wavestate sound like a workstation. which is kind of generic. I will follow along as you get deeper into the wavestate and really start unleashing its power. And yes, i have 2 korg workstations and a wavestate. i got the wavestate to expand beyond what the workstations can do. So i will watch with interest as you dig deeper. IMO, the wavestate is a super-sequencing module to be controlled by a workstation so I dont need regular instrument emulations from the wavestate. especially drums.

It’s a fair point I totally get where you’re coming from . But in the same breath you’ve no idea the amount of private messages I’ve received asking for box standard sounds, I suppose there’s a lot of users don’t have workstations. I absolutely hate programming drums on the Wavestate but I’ve even been asked to do a bank of beats only. Piano sounds is another common one along with orchestral and a bank of pad sounds only. The good thing is although I’ve presented these performances in a workstation type style I also provide all the individual layers as separate programs (370 programs in total over my 5 sound banks) so the user can mix and match them to their preference. Ie they don’t need to use the drums if not required. Some of my customers only have the Wavestate and a couple of monosynths. I design the performances primarily so they can be enjoyed using the Wavestate and nothing else. However they don’t have to be used that way for example when I am using the Wavestate for recording projects I don’t use it like this.

hey Ruben, thanks for your comment. I have a condition called an essential tremor I was born with it, it's not serious or life-threatening but there's no real cure apart a lot of alcohol which only works temporarily and makes it worse the next morning. :)

It looks like I’ll be doing a volume 5, I was after a new synth for a change because I’ve been solid on the Wavestate for 3 months. But nothing suitable or affordable. It means Volume 5 will get started soon.
