We once had a "between Christmas and new year" holiday at The Belvedere hotel on Barnpark Road. The other (2) guests were elderly and both had streaming colds and were in bed by 9pm. We had the lounge to ourselves and one evening watched Gremlins premiered on the telly. Another night we watched a spooky, thick sea fog rolling in to the town and expected all sorts of weird activity...... ahhhhh! we knew how to live in the last century, happy days 😂 😂. Seeya tomorrow Bill.

Spectacular views from the drone! When we used to drive down overnight from Yorkshire we'd park up down Smugglers for a couple of hours sleep, then head into town for a cafe breakfast before our guest house room was ready for us.

More familiar territory . . . my long-time friends live in Gorway. So nice to see, if only a glimpse. At about 15:40 . . . When I first visited Teignmouth the white house on the far left on the bluff was practically the only thing visible up there and I always thought "What a marvelous view, I would love that place."

During WW2 Gorway house was an army barracks. One of the stick of bombs that took No1 Barnpark trc also hit Gorway and ended up in the cellar. Luckily the bombs weere dropped too low for their fuses to arm. Grandfather owned Gorway after the war, in fact we still own a 10 ft strip of land on Dawlish rd side. The entrance to the Gorway estate is still there. Oh and bill you got the wrong end of Barnpark when you posted about the destruction of No1.
