Cold-Blooded Angels Cold-blooded angels in blankets of ash Alone in the southern pass There's a place in the garden Where nothing will grow But I could stay forever Where I lay every night on a forest floor Asleep with both eyes open 'Cause I need that bitter hand It struck me blind To keep my eyes from closing Pale as a rose, all the shadow it throws Over earth and sky If the rocks in my pocket Were cinder in stone I'd owe it all to nothing Wasted years on an empty road Where flies buzz around my head Now I miss the bitter hand That cut me down All the way to nothing Wasted years on an empty road Where flies buzz around my head If the dust in my pocket Were silver or gold I'd spend it all on nothing There's something waiting at the door I hear it breathing Follow even though I'm sure I should be leaving There's something waiting at the door I see it bleeding Every time I ask for more I can't believe it All I knew was hanging 'round the door I'm not sleeping anymore 'Cause I remember every single word Every little thing I can't forget Cold-blooded angels Stop staring at the sky We all pay a terrible price When we learn to fly And if I could forget you Oh, how hard I tried Please, somebody tell me How the hell did I survive?

The forlorn empty sounding recording and or thin production is what drew me into Baroness in the first place. It somehow adds to the atmosphere I think they're trying to create. I get this distant yet familiar and somehow unattainable feeling of hope and sadness.
@NathanSidF5 жыл бұрын
Exactly! It's the way Baroness is. And perfectly supplements their vision on music! They don't need 'perfect' production like most of the other bands! 🤘

@@Weedeater58 I bought the vinyl 2LP blind on the day the album came out, only having listened to Purple (which really had me hooked) and a few hits from previous albums. I was really impressed by the music, but also the unexpected booklet of lyrics and art! This album made me a huge Baroness fan.

I'm torn on the production...At times the mix works, and the drums sound like they are out of a synthesizer, but it works...The bass is prevalent and I love being able to hear each stroke. I think I miss the sound of the double guitars in parts, and there is a distortion on each instrument that seems to add static at times. But it works

Thanks for sharing the new album! Disappointed to discover you're only playing as support of Volbeat in Germany tho... Tickets for Hamburg are priced at 82 euros for the center area at the stage. Not a clever decision in my opinion :(

What "dust" is Gold & Grey? "Wasted years, on an empty road" A reference to "dust in my pocket was silver or gold, I'll spend it all on nothin" "If I could forget you...oh how hard I tried...please somebody tell me, how the hell did I survive?" So ask yourself what addiction that is gold & grey is snuffing ppl out left and right, right now.
