@sethhesio1902 About losing someone or ones self to addiction - Basically how it overcomes someone and changes them into something else entirely "sweet morphine, youve taken over me" to "heroin, where did you take my friend" That build up from pills to heroin, and they are no longer themselves

There was an anchor, there was a silver-sweet refrain You tucked your fingers in between my troubled bones And what you did next was second to none You really let us down You tied yourself up and jumped in the sea never to come home Valium You left me alone Tell me when I will be whole again There was a whisper. Once there were heralds and parades You sang your secrets through the tolling of the tide The fugitive rooms, the amateur tombs The silence and the cries The quickening beat, your march to the sea, never to return Sweet morphine, you've taken all of me Let me know, when you will let me go Heroin Where did you take my friend? Tell me why Those ropes are hanging high Valium You left me alone

Just discovered these guys like 3 days ago and I'm obsessed. Just feels like good fucking old fashioned Hard Rock. Not trying to be anything more than what it is. I've become a bit of a metalhead recently, but sometimes I feel like a lot of metal bands try really hard to be really stupidly edgy.

I know the Name Baroness since a few years, but never felt like i need to listen to that Band. An Hour ago, i was riding my Bike, back home from Work and suddenly this Song popped up on a Relapse Records Sampler. I had to stop riding my Bike, cause this Song gave me at 0:17 something what i call 'The Sweet Stitch right into the Heart'. Your whole Body freezes, you're shaking, your Heart starts to pump super fast, you want to cry and let everytjing out, but at the same Time you just wanna hug the whole World. Not joking....i'm listening to this Song since an Hour on repeat. And now i feel like, that I need to listen everything Baroness have ever recorded. This is a Song for Eternity.

and there you have it folks...a sampling of music from the best metal band in the U.S. Nevermore are no more, Nile are on hiatus (I guess), Mastadon the same, Lamb of God are full of themselves (and so freakin redundant) and Pig Destroyer are so bloody bile. This leaves Baroness as the most intriguing metal band in the United Snakes of Captivity. For 2012, Baroness's Yellow & Green...is gold. Album of the year...hands down!

I think this song shows the full extent of their new sound. It sounds almost mainstream radio at times without giving up any of its soul. Great song. Beautiful lyrics. One of my favorites of 2012 and a much needed break from all the screaming, -core(es), and mediocrity of most metal bands now a days.

That's entertaining, because I had the exact opposite reaction. I was all about Take My Bones Away from the first listen and was skeptical of March to the Sea. Having now listen to both song extensively, Both have grown on me quite a bit. Take My Bones Away does sound like a departure from what they've been doing, but change/evolution is good. Especially for a band this musically talented. I'm really looking forward to the new album now.

Yeah, I wasn't a fan of Take My Bones away, but it's Baroness, how can they let you down? Lo'and behold, they didn't. I really really dig this song and it's perfect because I am moving away from the heavier music. You can only appreciate it for so long until you want something lighter and Baroness is really filling that void.
