Beat Herx a few times, me and two friends did last night and continued but Crystal Cave was just savage... We were not prepared for the mobs in there. Seems based off your two characters in the video that developing more well-rounded is better than just Melee/Ranged/Magic focused.

Yeah, the Crystal Cavern is brutal especially when you're underleveled, the enemies (Crystal Golems and Cockatrice) hit insanely hard. Magic and Melee are your best friends level those 2 as much as you can, if you have a good ranged weapon level it as well it'll help you out later on. Good luck!

I'm not sure how to experience spread balances out with multiple people but our greatest issue was the cockatrice. Took no damage from our caster and melee was too risky.

The reason why I said Magic and Melee are your best friends is because: magic is really powerful early game, It'll even help you kill a minotaur, but if you level melee as well it'll help you out late game. When you're properly leveled melee is how you wanna kill the cockatrice. (or atleast thats how I do it) Keep in mind that's really risky when you're under leveled though, because they hit HARD! So get good armor, good weapons, and melee them. As for multiplayer advice stick together, when you kill a enemy and your partner is near he will gain experience as well.

How the hell did you level to 87? Me and my friends just got to that fight and were each around level 45. Maxed out appraise, trading, swimming, casting, magic, and some of us maxed a melee.

Grinding man, I killed almost every enemy and human allies lol (plus I had the bow so I got to kill some enemies in the underworld as well)

@@Jiffszz So me and my friends have tried again, and even after not just running the fuck away from Cockatrices in the Crystal Caves, we still are sitting at about 40s. Maybe it's cause you're single player.

Just blows my mind man. Went into that fight with three magic reflect items, and three life saving amulets. I suck, lol

@@GreatScooty I always safe the magic reflection amulets and life saving for the end boss, never know what might go wrong. Also did it with multiplayer as well if you stick together you both get exp from enemies

It was a nightmare killing Baron Herx, it took me a billion runs to even get to him, but this looks like torture.

it's not THAT bad. Best thing to prepare for it, is get a magic resist ring and/or the bracers from the sokoban trial. Another good thing is to stock up on water throughout your run so you can use the alembic to duplicate extra healing potions in preparation for the fight. Without about 20 of those potions, the fight should be winnable if you're good at using your inventory. Blank scrolls for enchant weapon also are great, you can get the Gungnir spear in the minotaur maze and enchant it to like +10 or something then go full melee with potions on the final fight. There's also some cheese strats like leveling tinkering and making 70 flametraps for each of the lich siblings. Another good one is recruiting several succubus. Because the succubi will recruit other monsters for you, eventually you will have far, FAR more friendly creatures than your leadership skill should allow you to have, which makes the final bosses much less likely to ever focus on you, which means an easy victory if you can kill them quick enough. Recruiting them is tricky though, as you usually need to get very close to them and reflect their charm spell with an amulet of magic reflection.
