I color coordinate things, and I try to pick things that would give it an antique look. White room, mostly all that matches, red room, blue room, etc. I accommodate big thing, such as sofa, against the wall, to keep living room wider. Behind the smaller sofa, I measured, and got a smaller width- 10 inches,(console table)x 40 inches long, to ensure it gave it a better display behind the smaller sofa. I also look for things with approximation, to ensure I can fit them where they may go well. Best of luck!! Thanks for asking....
