Every Barotrauma video he's posted this year has been them actually trying at the game, and he's had several entire streams of serious run attempts too. Continuing a 7 month streak doesn't really constitute a 'for once' or 'refreshing' response.

Game looks way better than the earlier free versions. Only complaint is that the game costs money now.
