I literally learned how to tie a better San Juan worm from Charlie loooool. If people take the time to watch some of these videos 2-3 times, the amount of small details and tricks he mentions have made my fly tying ability’s grow exponentially.

That collar installment is clutch, tied my first row up in some brown, will get into some other colors soon. Trying to get better at dry fly and streamer fishing and tying. Always something to learn. Hopefully they will do well in the alpine this summer along the front range

I tied this bug over 12 years ago, and fished it I was amazed with how many trout I caught on it wow. They would hit it so hard ,they would break 6X line instantly. I had to go to 4X line ,then I would keep them on the line. I think I lost 6 flys before I figured it out. I offered my bud a fly, he said no I'm good. And after 6 or 7 fish landed, he came up to me and said give me one of them. Lol what a great day!! What a great fly! One of my go to buds!

2x is probably the lightest I’d fish a streamer on, and I typically use 0x!

A must for PNW trout spey anglers. Love black & blue! I cover a run with a 11' 4 weight single rig with size 6. Might go back through the same run with my 11' 3 weight with a size 10 with a small soft hackle in front! Love your content

A spritz of hairspray to keep the squirrel fur standing up helps as well. Just wash it off before fishing.

It’s similar in that it has a strip of fur for the wing, but that’s about it. Different body and collar and tied quite differently. Sort of a Matuka/Zonker hybrid.
