You are very lucky with these B-series cars. I have nothing but issues. I just changed the intake gasket and the post Cat O2 decided to play up and throw a engine light

Hey mate, believe me… I’ve had my fare share of issues too aha. Once the cat goes and you get the engine light, easiest and cheapest solution is to just get a 90° O2 adapter for the exhaust. It should get rid of the light permanently. Luckily ’ve never had to do an intake gasket yet but they’re definitely both common problems.

@@Jeenzy79how are you sure it’s the cat? I really hope it’s not a cat and it’s just the sensor. The cat doesn’t rattle or anything

@@alpharaptor7510 Hard to tell mate but it’s pretty common. Best way is to take the cat off and tip it up and see if any bits of the honeycomb like material fall out. You can’t always hear loose pieces outside the car.

Hey mate could you not have just dropped the transmission out, to be able to change the rear main seal behind the flexplate? Or did you find the engine to be easier? Have got the procedure down to drop and reinstall a BTR very quick now, the video of you pulling the engine out was a godsend and not too much to it hey. Probably grab a spare FG grey top and another BA engine to prep for forged internals so I can spend a day to swap motors

Hey mate, it’s a lot easier to just drop the transmission out… once the bell housing bolts are out you’re most of the way there. The main reason I pulled the engine was to do the seal but also I changed the hard water line up underneath the intake manifold because the original one that was in other was leaking. That would’ve been a right pain in the ass to do in the car so that’s why I thought it’d be easier just to pull the engine.

Hey there just about to do the same job to my ba Ute was curious if you need to reset timing since the harmonic balancers turned after the torque converter bolts are tightened
