Wow a 'cuda is mint condition... They made some amazing race bikes, was definitely one of a coveted bike for me when I was racing in the mid 90's.

My brother bought a Barracuda here in Spain back in 94 and we still got it in the garage :D

I still have my '98 Barracuda XC URT frame that I rode for 10 yrs before hanging it up. Last year I decided to build it up as a softtail gravel bike using a Carver steel fork with a 440mm axle/crown measurement.

I used to run a shop and we would build "promotional" Barracuda bikes for the folks at Guinness Importers when Barracuda had the Dos Equis MTB team. In exchange they gave us cases of Guinness, Bass, Dos Equis and all kinds of promo items like pint glasses and clothing. Was a pretty good arrangement. Barracuda had full suspension bikes later on too and then just faded into obscurity....

A bit of a sad story. I hope I see one again. Thanks for sharing as you were part of the companies history. Thanks.

Wish you would have shown what spec it had on it. Wheelset, etc. I do remember these from cycling rags of the day but I don't think I ever saw one in the wild.

Seems like all the bikes of that era were built to last.

Hello there, I just purchased a pretty sweet A2RS fully original, even the original tires. One thing it is missing is that little weird tune for the rear brake cable routing. Can you tell me what that is made out of ? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
@JaredMorris14 ай бұрын
@@jdub8812 nice purchase! You will probably have to find a bicycle co-op and try to source parts that way. Barracuda bicycles used cable routing that was fairly common for that time. Good luck!

my wife had one for a while. It was OK but not great. I was riding a 93 Stump jumper which was better.

I had a stumpy around that same vintage. It was such a good bike. Fun times.
@edstewart36710 ай бұрын
I actually still have my old Stumpy, I haven't ridden for a couple of years. Last time I road it it still functioned great. I need to take it out this summer. It was fun, but riding more modern bikes you notice immediately that the geometry of the vintage bikes is off so I don't have the confidence that I have with a newer bike. My old Stump Jumper had no suspension, so that does not help. @@JaredMorris1
