I used to pay a heap of attention to bite times and leader damage ( still do to an extent) but I’ve been fishing my new lures when I have time and been catching cod at times you wouldn’t bother fishing usually. Don’t know if it’s luck or the goldilocks lure but the best part is to keep fishing them to find out

These are very accurate but also check which way the wind is blowing from and the strength of the wind when you go fishing on that particular time . Have to check the weather and the height of low tides and high tides. So pretty much good wind , weather , tides and moon phases will give the best results but you can still catch fish on bad days as long as you know how to look for snags and know how to use a sounder on a bad moon phase as long as it's a good running tide. I reckon the moons before and after full moons are the best for barra.
@DeanSilvester2 жыл бұрын
nice one legend. Also best to look at where the wind has been lowing for the past few days not just the day you are there

I normally fish during late night hours with live big shrimps, bt during fullmoon days water becomes dirty as there is alot of high water current , as a result of this there are no bites. Should I try some different baits?

Awesome video mate Ive only just found your page,great info ,were you in the Salt or fresh,have you noticed the change of bite times in the fresh are the same as in the salt .There is a great video from U.S by a guy called the Bass DR or professor not sure now will have to google lol.Hwe states they did a study on Bass that were in a tank underground a bunker i think,they bit and cam on the chew with change in the Baro and the active feeding times of the moon.

On some occasions there is a group of barramundi's feeding on the surface of the water especially on full moon Day's, it doesn't matter wat u try to catch them fr. Example live shrimp or lures they don't bite what could be the reason? Some told me to try a lure some told me they are mating some told me they are feeding on a particular fish. Any trick to catch them?
@DeanSilvester Жыл бұрын
Mate even in Awoonga if they are boofing in the shallows they are very difficult to catch. Most people think they are feeding on small frogs. If they are feeding wide of the bank on the surface i would suggest something walk the dog style to immitate prawn or mullet. But in the grass or weeds a weedless frog

Consist big dogs buddy, do you think the face strikes/ cheek swips are interest related or anger related??
@DeanSilvester3 жыл бұрын
i think they are interested and follow it until something triggers a response from them, they don't have hands like us to just touch or feel something so i guess head butting and swiping is the next best thing before eating it..

nice bite Dean👌. mate is that a 10k wind in open water running bak to a sloping point with a water temp bout 23. looks like the outside temp drop as well in the early morning. also Dean i am assuming the wind was steady for the whole sesh. will be starting at monduran next weekend mate. cheers.

water temp was 29 degrees mate, super warm. We were sitting off the edge of a point in about 10 feet of water casting into only 4-5 feet. Wind was swinging a little but basically always onto that bank in some form.
