Hard Yakka Fishing Kayaker

Hard Yakka Fishing Kayaker

Күн бұрын

Something a bit different this trip. I usually fish small tides for Jacks but decided to give it a go on the big tides. It was a pretty slow day up until the bottom of the tide in the afternoon. Hookups and getting smashed right at the kayak by Barra gets the blood pumping and it all seemed to turn on just before the push of the incoming tide. I had been seeing a few and a lure change to the Rapala SXR 10 Slash Bait in silver seemed to get them fired up enough to bite. I did manage to score one jack right at the end but for this trip the Barra were definitely the highlight. I hope you enjoy the video and as always thanks for watching. Cheers

Through the magic of editing people only see the good bits, they don't see all the prep, the expense, the planning, the time and effort ....and the bad days. I know only too well that it's not as easy as it looks But that was one of those sessions that make all those bad days and the thousands of fruitless casts fade into distant memories. Good work mate.

Thats spot on Rocket. I think fishing videos are some of the hardest videos to make. Hours upon hours of video to go through and if the fish dont want to play you cant really make anything. Always hopeful the next cast will produce the goods. Thats what makes fishing so interesting and exciting. You dont know when that next good fish is going to commit and take your lure. Capturing those gem moments regardless of all the hours of footage makes it all worth while.

I didn't take any crab pots that trip. Iv been meaning to but depends on tides as i dont want to be crawling across mud flats to retrieve them. I did see 2 on the waters edge this trip so next time on big tides ill have to throw them in. Thanks as always Shalveen and glad you enjoyed the video.

Awesome video Hard Yakka Fishing Kayaker !! I missed the Fishing videos mate where have you been it’s good to have you back posting some more videos Hard Yakka Fishing Kayaker ? I have been having some awesome time Fishing because I finally caught some Bream for my Family only legal Yellow Fin Bream though and I have finally caught a 42 cm Dusky Flathead this year on a Herring jig and 15lb line !! I casted out the herring jig and since there was a big school of bait I was jigging up and down and I got smoked by a 42 cm Flathead I caught the Flathead and it bent out my hook and it since I was holding it by the mouth it bite me on the finger I was like you little thing but I released it back into the water !! Last week I went Fishing with my herring that I caught on the Herring jig I was using a small hook and Sinker I casted out I was praying to get a massive fish and my 2500 reel started screaming as soon as I said that and the reel wouldn’t stop so I think next time while I am Fishing there I need to upgrade my line but I don’t want to use really heavy line so that way I can still catch Bream do you know what mono line I should use for big Fish Hard Yakka Fishing Kayaker because the other week ago I lost a 50 to 60 cm Flathead using a live Herring as well Hard Yakka Fishing Kayaker !! Thanks for the videos Hard Yakka Fishing Kayaker and Thanks for showing me how to catch more Fish Hard Yakka Fishing Kayaker !! Cheers William !!

Glad to hear your getting a few good fish William. Yeah the Flathead have a pretty sharp jaw. I always use lip grips on them to help prevent slashed thumbs and getting gill spiked when they thrash there head around. I honestly haven't used mono main line in a long time so i really couldn't tell you what would be a good option seeing as there are so many different lines now since i last used it. I do remember using 20lb and moving up to 30lb as i was losing to many fish. You will still get good bream on 20-30 lb and they are not to fussy when it comes to bait fishing. Lures on the other hand its best to run a lighter leader but not to light in case you do hook on to a bigger fish. Love hearing your fishing updates and how your progressing. Best of luck mate and tight lines. Cheers.

@@williamatta3279 Really nothing you can do about that hey, maybe a loser drag to let the fish run with it so you dont yank it out of its mouth.

Nice 1 mate. I fished the same creek and most of those spots on tuesday the 22nd of October with live mullet and not a barra to be found. We did land 5 jacks up to 48cm though so it was a good day but the 20knt south easter didnt help. Look forward to bumping into you 1 day up there im sure ill have a cold beverage to share haha
@HardYakkaFishingKayaker
@HardYakkaFishingKayaker 4 жыл бұрын
Hahaha awesome. Never knock back a cold beverage. Good to hear you got a few Jacks and yeah the Barra are there just very picky at the moment. I could see them on the sounder sitting on the mud ledges and drop offs from around 1.6 meters to 2.5 meters. They didn't bite until just before the start of the run in though.

Mate, that first barra action - a few swirls and misses, then the big boof, was so cool. I'm amazed you can stick with the slow winding and flicks when you know a big fish is hunting the area and your heart must be racing with anticipation. And so patient with the landing of the one that stuck. very wise words re patience near the boat - for all kinds of fishing.

@@cheymcloughlin6366 To be honest im more worried about sharks lol. Seen some big Bull sharks and one Tiger. I dont go hanging my appendages in the water for that reason hahaha. The kayak is so quite and stealthy in those small creeks where a boat would most likely spook the fish. Guess its all a gamble at the end of the day.
