It is easier if you can purchase a barrel, because the hoop marks and stave curviture will be the same. You can get by purchasing individual stave, however if you can't select them your self and you just get camp run you may have difficulty getting good matches fo the back, arms and seat wheich require the most consitancy. I hope this helps, if you have any other question please feel free to email me again

I will usually agree in fact the only thing I normaly refer to plans on are chair. and even that can be fudged once you know your seat height, seat depth and angle of the back.

I'm finally beginning to construct the chair. What size wood plug did you use to extract the plugs??

I'm in the process of constructing the chair. The plans call for 20 inch front legs, you call "braces". The pieces you cut seem to be much larger than 20", especially after you measured 13" from the bottom of each leg. Can you verify what size did you cut your legs?

My only improvement would be to upgrade the size of screw from a #8 to a much stronger #10.
