Craziest Wipeouts & Rides 2023 Eddie Aikau BIG WAVE Surf Event

The Eddie Aikau Big Wave Invitational, is a big wave surfing tournament held at Waimea Bay on the north shore of Oahu, Hawaii. The tournament is named for native Hawaiian, champion big wave surfer, and life-saving Waimea Bay lifeguard, Eddie Aikau.
This year Michael & Mason Ho are the first ever father and son to surf the prestigious event. Michael being 65 years of age and Mason 34. Its been a life long dream for both of them to surf The EDDIE together. Mason got a big bad gash on his leg prior to the event but wouldn’t miss this chance for anything.

The best Eddie highlight video out...Pops, no words necessary, they wouldn't do him any justice anyway.....Mason, going hard even though all busup, Billy and Makua as well with those crazy big knee braces....I turned on the comp with the intention of getting some things done as there is always a lot of down time with contests, especially big wave events...Nope, not this time, closeouts from the first heat and it just pumped harder and harder every minute....That 10'2" Rawson Ryno is unreal, especially after you broke down the face plant pressure ding, the fin modifications and of course, the triple plug!!!!!! Best contest Ive ever watched, SOOOO stoked that Luke won for so many reasons....Hope you are healing up good and fast Mason, big mahalos for all that you do with this channel....

Big wave surfing takes an incredible amount of skill. It's just that is skill in the areas of surfing I have the least amount of fun in. Paddling, standing up, and going straight. Shit is boring af.
