You pay great tribute to Stan, born here in the Hamilton area of Ontario, Canada, but every summer raised in Nova Scotia, Canada on the farm of his grand parents, sadly to pass away in a plane crash in 1983. Love your final two bar length note near the end ... a joy to hear and an awe inspiring ability. Stan would be proud.

I am currently learning Bodhran and as a drumset drummer of 14 years it's proved quite a switch. Your tutorials have helped immensely. As we speak, it's 4am EST and I can't practice on the drum. So I'm attempting to play along on a binder. One of my favorite songs. Thanks a ton from Kentucky!

Wow, man! I really loved your first upload of this, and when I saw you re-upped it I honestly didn't expect that much of an improvement, I didn't think there was much room to improve. But your voice is so much richer in this performance, and it really adds to the somber tone of the song. You definitely have a masterful understanding of folk music vocals

Great job man! I have been listening to you for a few years now, and I usually use your versions to discover new forms of Irish music. Most of the times your versions are very good and do the originals a great justice. I also think the new drum (well I don't know how "new" it is) sounds a lot better than the older one. Your talent is amazing and I really appreciate the heart you put into your work. I will keep listening!

Ah but Jesse F. I think you know about that already. Just finished your bodhran Ytube (outstanding by the way ... I have a Walton make) Your voice would lend so well to a band I know, Poor Angus - find them on Ytube as well, doing Barrett's, Sam Hall, and I think some others. They finished 2nd in the Canada-wide Searchlight CBC sponsored music hunt contest. Do you need a group to join :) .... did Stan's grandparents live in Scotia or New Brunswick?

I don't think the drum works: either lose the drum, or try a bigger more resonant one. You have a great voice, that suits this great song, though.
