I think the Argentina loss has sent this coaching team into a bit of a selection tail spin. As someone who's been vocally backing razor all season, I find this one a bit odd. I always hoped we finally bought in a slightly more creative risk taker as a coach, someone who wouldn't hesitate to blood in new and exciting talent. This game would have been perfect. Because as we found out with Fiji, testing new selections become a little meaningless as we dont get a sense of putting them under tier-one team one pressure. This is a poor Aus team and we have the bled locked away. Almost THE perfect game to trial new combo's. Instead we start TJ and Sevu with an even more baffling Havilli on the bench.

Most players end their prime mid 30s and Barrett is at the tail end he’s fine. People forget Carter played for NZ at this age and still was excellent.

Given the ABs poor history in Wellington and lack of form this year, it makes sense not to experiment too much this week. The Bledisloe is safe and sound, but it is still an official test match.

I would argue neither of them looked great in that game due to a real lack of game time over the last couple of months. If you are looking at form from Super Rugby Pacific though, there was a massive difference between the two 👍
