Your video is most excellent! Best one on KZbin regarding lower CA replacement, especially models with the lower cam bolt. Good editing, sound, video and on point without any BS. I wish I had found this one before doing the same on my '98 ZJ. Would have saved me some time. Keep up the good work man!

Extremely helpful video. I did 1 Lower control arm on my '96 GCL. The one thing I learned which may be helpful was to leave both bolts loose to fit the new arm. Then, with my wrench, I rotated the cam nut on the axle mount into position and tightened it, then tightened the bolt on the frame side. It's good to have the clunking gone and I would have been lost without your video - thanks again.

I have a 2003 WJ, i need to do my lowers. Following your procedure, you didn't need to use a ratchet strap? I'm mechanically inclined, but this jeep life is new to me, only thing I'm concerned about is doing it myself and having the axle shift..
@barricadegarage53615 жыл бұрын
Joshua Figueroa Folowing my procedure you will not need a ratchet strap! find level ground, jack up the axle and support it with jack stands and then jack up the body and set it on jackstands. the jackstand under the axle will keep it from shifting while the jackstands under the body keeps the swing arch the same. only do one side at at time and you will be just fine. Ive done this countless times

Hi my passenger side control arm bracket that is connected to the front Axle broke so it’s just hanging right now and one mechanic said they would have to replace the whole axle is this true or is there another option
@barricadegarage53616 жыл бұрын
Carl Main your only other option is to grind off whats left and weld new brackets in its place. rough country suspensions sells replacement brackets for the zj model grand cherokee that require them to be welded on. replacing the axle on these Jeeps is not difficult at all tho but at this point those are your only 2 options

Really want the impact(1400 ft/lbs torque solves a lot of problems) but use on nut side to prevent stripping bolts. You gave torque specs but no torque wrench- just running them down with impact? May confuse those without experience. It's a Jeep thing you wouldn't understand.
