There are plenty of wild horses, dogs and pigs up in the Tops. This video was obviously made before fire restriction were implemented for the summer. Not only the early morning is cool but the water is very cold, even in summer and if you are lucky there may be a snow flurry as well, forecast for Christmas at this stage is cool and wet. Douglas firs are the tree we get Oregon timber from. Not only the swim but the rocking of a four wheel drive makes one tired at the end of the day. Haven’t watched many of your videos lately but theirs one is closer to me and very enjoyable. I did spend a bit of my working life in this area. Thanks for taking me along. You're right Sarah.....that first campsite was epic!!!!! Here in Colorado it can be very warm/hot by day but cool off wonderfully by night......perfect!!! Do you have an electric blanket???? I LOVE MINE and I'm not afraid to say so!!!! Is glamping a word in Aus? That's me!!!!! 300litres water, 800w solar, electric blanket!!!!!!!! @ Yeah for sure, that’s my favourite area too. Bit biased though since I’m from that side ha. Lots of good trout fishing in all those streams too if you ever wanted to try fly fishing.

Not sure you’d find those in NSW - I believe they are only native to Tasmania now

@@sarahrosefoster there is an “insurance” colony established at Barrington Tops on land donated by a prominent land owner it the area. It was free of facial tumour disease that was impacting the devils in Tasmania. Occasionally we hear of their breeding success, I guess the problem is what to do with this naive population that cannot be reintroduced to Tasmania because they have even less resistance to the disease than the current population?

Not so fun fact, On the 9/8/81 a Cessna 210 with 5 souls onboard disappeared from radar over the Barrington Tops. The wreckage has never been found.
