Black Lightning was a seriously underrated tv series. Seasons three and four could have been a little better but since the very first show, it dealt with some clear and present social issues that no other super hero would touch. Respect to the director, cast and crew 💯

@@mikebrown4956 uh that's true... It did cover those issues but with a black filter. Like it would be completely different if the characters weren't black covering those issues. While supergirl had a very diverse cast. Like that show was covered a new issue each week like it was the monster of the week. Like it was season 4-6 ( all I remember is a great song called really gone in that episode that I think made me cry) and a whole string of episodes had something new bring discussed. E. g. The school system issues would have a completely different vibe to it of it wasn't focused to a black community. So black lightning was social issues + being black. Sometimes it was being black and having a social isuue (school) and other times having a social issue and just happening to be black which was rarer (like Lynn).

@@yanicknj Black lightning’s cast was just as diverse. Supergirl’s cast was just mostly White while Black Lightning’s cast was mostly Black. That was the only real surface level difference. And again, Supergirl never really focused on substance abuse and addiction(which every group suffers from nit just black people), Black Lightning also focused on teenage life and the struggles of that(Supergirl didn’t have many main teen cast members) so yes, BL went way further than just black people issues.

I loved the relationship they established with Jefferson and Barry in crisis, unlikely pairing us exactly what those crossovers are for. Something about them two just seemed like a real nice, genuine friendship and respect for one another, akin to Barry and Oliver’s at first, very unlikely due to the differing aspects of one another, but actually very strong together despite that. I’m mad we didn’t get to see more of it

I still get irritated that the writing of his powers and abilities are not consistent. He's become so powerful that he doesn't even have to run or swing his arm to shoot lighting.. Just point. He's become so fast that an exploded nuke in his face is nothing but a jigsaw to look at and solve with patience. Yet for some damn reason a normal speed guy can dodge his lightning..but he can't? Since when was lighting too fast for the flash and when was lightning too slow for a school principle? And yes, I'm aware who black lightning is but he's not an elemental lightning power use which means he can't turn into lightning and he's not as fast as lightning. He can just shoot and somewhat control it. Barry's lighting should had either hit and knocked BL down or hit and unfazed BL but in no way should be had been able to dodge it

Cant Black Lightning sense electricity ? An electricity needs 2 contact points before arching a charge, that could establish a sorta "spidey sense" for BL to dodge the coming attack. BL cant keep up with Barry's movement Speed but can preceive his lightning attack because of his ability set. So its not his speed, its timing for BL.
