This was great! You rarely hear The Anvil talked about in shoots. He was one of my childhood favorites.

Barry is such a easy going guy. I've wondered if heels could be friendly away from wrestling? Like meeting Barry at a store would he be laughing and relaxed with someone that didn't know his career? I remember he was a very intimidating heel in the ring.

I still forget that Neidhart died. He was such an important part of my formative wrestling viewership years. I'll miss him (And so many other heroes) for the rest of my life.

The Heart Foundation is definitely on my Mount Rushmore, along with, Bulldogs, the steiners, and I know this one won't be popular with everyone, but the last spot has to go to The Midnight Express with Corny. Brett said In a shoot interview that he wished he could have wrestled the Midnight (the Stan lane version). I would loved to have seen that, Brett vs Eaton would be amazing, and the big Anvil going at with Stan.

@@bananabana6630 Without a doubt. Dennis and Stan were both amazing wrestlers but Bobby was in a class of his own. You never hear a bad word about him. Never hurt anyone and could wrestle anyone and make them look like a star, just listen to what Flair says about him. Bobby wasn't the greatest talker but Cornette more than made up for that. I know a lot of fans dislike him, but no one can say he wasn't great as a manager and on cometary.

I remembered they fought each other as members of the Hart Foundation and Demolition respectively. So, they were actually tag team partners before that. Fascinating.

Jim got his nickname by winning an anvil throwing contest.
@widowmaker1315
@widowmaker1315 9 ай бұрын
True. Jim won the competition by throwing a 100 lb anvil just over 11 feet, but not the record throw of 25 feet 6 inches that he frequently claimed during his WWF career. Huge exaggeration, like a lot of things claimed in wrestling.

@@widowmaker1315 Yeah, that's kayfabe. in wrestling. The 500 lb bench reps went down to 450 which is more credible.

Smash was just about the best thing in the wwf. Insane takent and character. Loved him so much. Jim Neidhart too. Its funny that in the HF Jim was the outspoken one, the one woth personality. While Bret was the quiet, yet cool one. In interviews, Jim cant get a word on edgeways, its all Bret 😂 Hart Foundation are my all time fave tag team. Demolition pretty close second. Liked them more than the Road Warriors/LOD

Jim Cornette in One Of His Shows Said That Jim The Anvil Neidhart Strength Was Comparable To Mark Henry And Mark Henry Legitimately Is Considered The Strongest Man In The World. Yes, Jim The Anvil Was Right Up There With The Strongest Man In The World In Strength!!!

@abhinavkumar547 3 ай бұрын
I don't think so but where did Cornette said that ? Jim was as good bench presser as Mark Henry but in rest of all compound lifts he was quite far behind. Jim's nos. listed in old fitness magazine were 570 lbs bench press , 720 lbs deadlift ( when he was in high school ) and 670 lbs squat. According to Bret hart and Dave Meltzer, Jim bench pressed 600 lbs or close to 600 lbs at Stu Hart's training academy. Henry's nos. were 601 lbs bench press, 925 lbs deadlift and 1006 lbs squat all done in training.
