Actually I don’t think he is anymore. In season 7 he got his speed back from Iris and their love or whatever. And it seemed like that happened at the end of this season when he was remembering. And the lightning in Iris eyes. The connection probably helped him boost it again. But we will see in next weeks episode

The writing for this episode was fantastic. It closes the Damien Dark story as recognized redemption arc. Sara knows Damien redeemed himself but left him hanging when he offered her a handshake at the end of a Legends episode. Peace was offered and accepted with the heros and the redeemed Damien with the handshake between The Flash and Dark. Well done CW.

Well you are not wrong because this armageddon event has more incorporation of flashpoint event that happened in comics than the original flashpoint done by the Flash writers at the end of season 2. My reason for it are as follows: (a) Barry having reverse flash costume is similar to reverse flash costume ejecting from the Barry's ring in the comics (b) Damian darhk's reasons for agreeing to help barry restore timeline to it's original setting was same as thomas wayne agreeing to help barry in the flashpoint comics:To ensure the survival of their children(in thomas case, it was his son bruce whereas in damian's case, it was his daughter Nora) (c) Barry's suspicion that thawne caused changes to the timeline(Only this time it turns out to be true unlike comics where it was Barry who himself caused those changes) (d) Barry going to meet iris before causing armageddon is similar to how Barry went to meet his mother before reversing the effects of flashpoint that he caused in the comics) (e) Thawne getting hit from behind by iris is similar to how thomas killed thawne in the flashpoint world in the comics.(Only this time it only diabled his speed for few seconds) (f) Barry diasppeaing due to timeline changes is also somewhat similar to how his mind was getting adjusted according to the history of flashpoint world in the comics Apart from this, if you or anyone remember any moment which I have missed and was incorporated in this armageddon event, feel free to point it out

@@greekyoungbuck Only its not. in the Flash universe, time travel changes take time to cement. in this case the changes thawne did to the timeline, even killing Barry as a kid, did not cement into reality yet, which means all characters can get certain past events/emotions triggered into them till reality is overwritten. Does it make sense? No. But thats how CW portrays their time travel rules

I just wish for a brief 1 or 2 seconds they show Barry suddenly pull away from Thawne as if Thawne was walking & have him screaming out in disbelief, anger & frustration as he sees the portal open & Barry dissappear into it instead of the portal suddenly opening on the spot without any indication of accelerating to that Mach 20 speed he needed after the sparky eyes. I could imagine him turning & smiling at Thawne saying "See ya chump" & blasting away from him 🤣

I think I understand the Negative Speed Force more from looking at Barry. The slower he goes, the more red his lightning gets? Until the point where it goes into the negatives

Not exactly. The negative speedforce isn't slow... it just siphons off the positive. That's why Thawne and Barry are opposites and perfect rivals. The red assumedly comes from the hate and anger. Barry was slow in this episode because he was unable to fully connect to the speedforce, and in that timeline he had a connection to the negative, which isn't his MO. Hate isn't what Barry's about. Thawne on the other hand wasn't able to beat Barry decisively because love (the fuel for the positive) isn't what he's about. He's about hating Barry. Thus, he can't use the positive effectively, just like Barry can't use the negative. However, once Barry (with Iris's help) was able to reconnect to the (positive) speedforce, Thawne had no chance of stopping him.

The part I hated was when they kept Iris stuck in mirror dimension for so long
