am a huge fan of Barry Harris. I love your videos. Great job!

Since the first time I've heard Barry Harris singing along his solos and later singing actual songs with lyrics to students, I thought he could have turned into a superb and expressive singer. He wouldn't complain so much of how Jazz purists are inherently poor, like me.

chrisparks22 I cannot find his chord changes to songs only solos
@Gmuns15 жыл бұрын
@@Dundatta258 they aren't his chord changes, the chord changes to this song and most all jazz standards remain the same generally speaking. Just google, "Woody'n You Chord changes" or "Woody'n You Lead Sheet"

The Keith Jaret of jazz. dodahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhdodeeeeeeeeeeeeeee lol. Great playing as always. Some may think that the humming alone with the playing is a distraction, however it's something that a lot of great musicians do automatically.

Are you deaf?

You should already know the melody in your head, so, inserted that into what is taking place on the video.

What Barry is playing is a counter-melody to the head that most ppl know. U can hear it on the original Coleman Hawkins recording, as well as on Sonny Rollins’ version

I would do better not watching his hands play......Kinda like when Jordan or Kobe take their shoes off and you see their toes. Thanks for posting!
