Never forget in 86 when I was 10 years old was so upset when mcguigan lost the world title. Dad drove me and the family up to clones to meet him, and when I got my chance ran towards him and he tied my shoelace, his father gave me his autograph In Barry's book also and barry signed his World title postcard 4 me, I was absolutely thrilled. Over the moon. I have v unfortunately suffered with severe depression since I was 21 and anytime I get down, I think of it as a boxing match, to come out fighting never to get caught up against the ropes and never throw the towel in 😉👍 if you can beat severe depression you can beat anything😉👍

Im not Irish but Barry is one of my favourite fighters of all time always gave 100% and never a dull fight a great champion.

Barry didn't quite get that right. God Save The Queen was played before the Pedroza fight. That would have been drowned out by a cacophony of boos had it been played anywhere else where there was a large crowd of Irish but that night there was barely a murmur. That was the power the man had at that time.

I'm a Rangers man from Glasgow. God Save the Queen was respected by the crowd that night. The whole of the British Isles was behind Barry that night and it was inspiring. Wonderful memories.
