RC Warship Combat, a hobby where scale warships compete in mock battles for dominance of the ponds, sometimes produces some peculiar and even spectacular sinks.
In this video, the Spanish dreadnought España's onboard pump fails to keep up with the influx of water from battle damage and prepares to meet its fate, but not before it pirouettes - much to the enjoyment of the other captians.

That's really funny! And if to put right under the deck some soda and acid in mixture, so when the hull is dramatically flooding in the water will reach the mixture and the reaction will start with great CO² production, what will release the water out?

Be awesome if you made like mini torps for a destroyer with a small motor powered by a AAA battery stuffed in a pen casing or something & small charge on the tip. You could use the button to press the pen as a detonation trigger when it hits a ship

Are bulkheads against the rules?

Yes, they are. Any internal features that obstruct waterflow and prevent sinking are prohibited. The ship sinking in the video did not have a bulkhead. A good deck seal trapped some air in the bow, keeping it afloat.

I have never worked with model warships but i think it is a good rule. We are not talking about the bulkheads similar to the ones in the Titanic, where if enough water enters the ship they become useless. Here we are talking about battleship bulkheads, a whole different beast, which were designed to keep ships floating for hours whilst taking on water. I guarantee some of these ships just wouldn't sink if bulkheads were allowed- even in limited number. Regardless, you wouldn't want bulkheads anyway. You want water to flow evenly throughout the ship so that the ship remains flat. If water collected in a specific area, the ship would list and you wouldn't be able to manoeuvre or aim as well.

The ships have custom made guns that fire regular bb's using Co2 carried onboard in a paintball air tank. The ships are sheeted it very thin balsa so the bb's easily penetrate. If the holes let in more water than the pump can handle, the ship will sink. If you would like to learn more, check out the links in the description.

To make the battles last longer and make them more realistic each ship is equipped with a pump. If you take to many hits, the pump can't keep up and you will sink.

Hello, The rules for the hobby can be found here: ircwcc.com/main/home/rules/ Basically though, the ships are built with ribs leaving 85% of the hull penetrable. They are then sheeted with 1/32" balsa. The ships then engage in mock battles with Co2 powered BB guns. Each ship has a pump to try to keep it afloat. Take to many holes and it's down to Davy Jone's Locker.

Hello Gaben, Destroyers built to this scale (1/144) are very hard to do. Their small size makes it hard to fit all the necessary equipment, plus be stable enough to battle. Generally cruisers are recommended for beginners, with a fully operational boat starting at around $700-800. If you're interested in this hobby, I recommend joining rcwarshipcombat.com/ There is a great community there that can answer all your questions and help you get your first ship on the water.
