Sadly only gets killed because his team wouldn't let him dispose of his old feral rotten body. If anyone had actually put it down then Barry could have probably helped against anything but homunculus. Guy was great at raids and causing distractions. Seemed pretty controllable too as long as you're loyal to him, and have a strong woman yell at him.
