I hate to rain on anyone's parade but being someone's legal spouse entitles them to EVERYTHING unless otherwise stated in a will. When you marry you become one with that person and nothing, not even kids, come between that. Should she share with the kids? Maybe. Maybe not. The thing is that it's her choice. It was Barry's place to take care of that. The fact that he didn't may say more than we know. Either way, expect a step-mother to do what the father didn't is unreasonable. Perhaps Barry had his reasons for not handling it while he was still alive to do so. Would YOU leave it up to someone to take care of your kid(s), or would YOU make sure that you give your kids whatever it is that you want them to have? Just something to think about.

Goldean just happened to be seated in front of me, laying against this white gentleman who was dressed in attire, which was very similar in the way Barry White dressed. The bottom line is that when a parent wants their child to have something, they make sure that they get it. It was up to Barry to do that, not Glodean, as Barry had decades to get that together. If he didn't, then maybe that says more than we need to. Barry had time during his kidney ailment to get his paperwork in order but seemingly didn't do so. I remember his last girlfriend had a son shortly before he died. Then, Glodean stepped back in like, yeah..but she aint gettin a dime of this money. At the time, I didn't blame her for stepping in like she did believing she was protecting her kids inheritance. However... Exactly all her information is off on this one. Barry White died of cancer, I believe it was all of his pancreas. I didn't know about those other health issues that he had ship that Wendy mentioned , but with those alone he had to know that he wouldn't live a very long life. If that wasn't a wake up call then the cancer diagnosis certainly was. There is not a high survival rate for pancreatic cancer. If you look on KZbin you will find Barry White and Pavarotti, performing together in Italy . I am African-American but I like a wide genre of music as music is universal. However the reason why I mentioned Pavarotti is coincidentally both he and Barry White's life were cut short buy the exact type of cancer. Know that all of Barry White's ex-wives , said he was a wonderful man and they all were on a friendly basis with him. Far as I know the only claims the ex-wives can make is if they were married to him for more 10 years they are entitled to social security benefits. Next , his widow must split Barry White's estate with all of his bio children equally , after getting whatever she is entitled to percentage-wise under the law. If you die without a will , there are laws in place which state legally how a situation like this is to be handled. Most of Barry's children , must have been too young and had no one else to protect their legal rights. I am shocked as to how much money he must have made and never put anything in trust for his children. Did he not even believe them life insurance. My belief is everyone needs to start from whatever financial level they're at setting up things for your children . First thing I would get is life insurance , for my family. Start small with the basics , and add on other things for your children's financial protection as your income increases.

A friend of mine has a child by Glodean's son, Kevin, who is Barry's stepson and you can best believe that Kevin is reaping those benefits 100 percent. Kevin doesn't work, but drives an expensive car, lives in an expensive house, wears expensive clothes, spends money like he's worked hard to get it, etc. In addition the partying, the cocaine, the alcohol, etc., is all funded by who? First of all, at that point, from the mid-60s, Barry had recorded singles under various names such as Gene West, Gene Carter, was a member of L.A. Doo Wop groups named The Atlantics & The Upfronts in the early 60s, produced songs for Pop act The Bobby Fuller Four, the Diana Ross sound-alike Felice Taylor & Viola Wills, amongst others. In 1965, he arranged a song called "The Duck" by Jackie Lee & even wrote songs from kids show "The Banana Splits", but was more into producing, not singing as a soloist. Glodean had success BEFORE Barry, when he put together Love Unlimited with Glodean, her sister Diane & their cousin Linda & they had the hit "Walking In The Rain With The One I Love" in 1972. You could more accurately say that Barry was GLODEAN'S "background singer", because it was his "telephone conversation" on that song that brought Barry's voice to the ears of millions. When Barry had his breakthrough hits a year AFTER Love unlimited hit, he didn't write the songs for himself because he didn't want to sing, knowing that the producing & writing was where the money was. He wanted to write for a male artist & after he broke through, he wrote & produced an LP for a guy named "Jay Dee", who was actually the same Jackie Lee, for who he arranged the hit "The Duck" nearly 10 years earlier. It was the head of 20th Century who insisted that Barry release the songs himself, likely because of the similarity & popularity of the "rap" style of Isaac Hayes. THAT'S when Love Unlimited back him but the way that Wendy describes history, you'd think that Glodean has never done anything, much less had a career in her own right. If you're going to sit on tv & present yourself as an "expert", then at least do your damn homework, as opposed to misinforming your fans & displaying that you haven't a clue of what you're saying. We've got enough people misrepresenting our history without one of us joining in.

Barry wasn’t with glodene since 1988 I believe. He passed away in 2003. So that’s what? 15 years. So the fact that she got his estate probably made him roll over in his grave. The money should have been split between all the children. People get so greedy. They start fighting before the body is cold. My parents are giving my brother the house. Their in their 80’s. From my understanding to be a junior, (female or male), you must carry the same name as that parent. Barry White Jr was not named after his alleged father Eugene Barry Carter. And as far as Barry White Jr, why isn't he working, he's a grown man not a kid. I have no problem with parents leaving their children money but they should also have instilled in them the principles of education and self esteem. If my father and he did left me money and he did I would expect to collect that money and if anyone tried to stop me or hold it up they would be in court quick fast and in a hurry. So what I'm taking from this gossip from Wendy Williams is that this young man was not in his father's will. Because why would he need to protest the courts if he was in the will. What Barry White DID do before we even knew who he was was sang Doo Wop with 2 L.A. groups The Atlantics & The Upfronts between 1960 to 1963. He also arranged the 1965 hit ":The Duck" by Jackie Lee & wrote for Viola Wills, Felice Taylor, for the Pop act, The Bobby Fuller Four & even wrote songs for the kid show "The Banana Splits". He also "discovered" Love Unlimited, who hit with "Walking In The Rain With The One I Love", a year before he became a reluctant superstar because the owner of his label demanded that he release some demos that he'd recorded. Before that, in the mid 60s, Barry had recorded some singles under the names Lee Barry, Gene West & Gene Carter. Most of those mid-to-late 60s to 1970 songs & demos were released on the 1974 LP "No Limit On Love". Black People!! This is the reason that you have a will when you die. And get a video copy as well for if you are seen and heard talking about your last wishes it can't be disputed. And for the love of God, get some damn life insurance! You can spend hundreds a month on liquor and partying but can't afford a $15 to 2O a month policy? Can you say "Globe Life"? But nooo, y'all wait until the eyes close, panic and start begging and starting Fund Me pages. What does that say about your character as a responsible adult? And you may not understand the insurance process but when your loved one dies you get a check. The average funeral costs almost $8600 bucks but for $20 a month you can get a policy that's worth $$$$$100 GRAND. That alone should motivate even the chronically lazy.
