Yeah, I know, but what does the manual say, "The warning light and buzzer should come on before the air pressure drops below 60 psi in either system. If this happens while driving, you should stop right away and safely park the vehicle. If one air system is very low on pressure, either the front or the rear brakes will not be operating fully. This means it will take you longer to stop. Bring the vehicle to a safe stop, and have the air brakes system fixed." 5.2 - Dual Air Brake (Paragraph 3)

Though some school districts employ school buses with air brakes, I believe most are still using hydraulic brakes. So, you're answer is probably no for now.

To answer your question, I called the Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) Customer Care Center for Montana at 1-866-450-8034. The person there that I spoke to said that there were 30 questions on the written air brakes exam. I asked her how many could I get wrong and still pass. She said she wasn't sure but thought that it was ten percent. Of course, your state may vary.

For the sections to study for the Class "A" CDL, study Figure 1.2 of your state's CDL manual. Currently, you're going for your CLP or commercial learner permit. Do you have your MEC or medical examiner's certificate? For air brakes, watch this video instead. @@MasterArmedforces Get your state's CDL manual and look at Figure 1.2 in Section 1. The chart explains what sections you'll need to study for the Class "A" CDL. First, you need to pass the General Knowledge Exam, but before you can take the exam, you'll need to get your MEC. Once you pass the General Knowledge Exam and whatever Endorsement Exams you'll need to pass. See Figure 1.2 in Section 1 again for what Endorsement Exams to study for, and what sections to study in your CDL manual. The order is as follows: 1. Get your MEC. 2. Pass General Knowledge Exam for Class A. For that class, you'll need to study Sections 1, 2, 3, 5, and 6. 3. Pass the Endorsement Exams that you'll need. Again, see Figure 1.2 for that info as for what sections to study. 4. Once you pass those exams, you'll be issued a CLP or commercial learner permit once you pass an eye exam. 4A. STOP: Go to Swift and show them your CLP with the appropriate endorsements listed on the back of the CLP. Show them your MEC, too. 5. After about 2 weeks, take the Vehicle Inspection Test, the Basic Skills Test, and the On-road Test. Study Sections 11, 12 and 13. You'll need Swift to train you how to do those things. You'll need to perform these tests on the type of vehicle that you'll be driving commercially. You'll need to get the appropriate vehicle and have a licensed commercial driver drive it to the testing location for you, and then drive it back if you fail any of those tests. If you do pass, you'll take another eye exam at the DMV, get your picture taken for your CDL, and pay your driver license fee. Then you'll have a CDL. Good luck.

Answer the following question: The driver must be able to see a low pressure warning that comes on before pressure in the service air tank falls below HOW MANY PSI. [a] 60 PSI. [b] 55 PSI. [c] Neither a or b. [d] All of the above. The correct answer is, "What does the manual say?" 5.2 - Dual Air Brake, Paragraphs 5 & 6. Before driving a vehicle with a dual air system, allow time for the air compressor to build up a minimum of 100 psi pressure in both the primary and secondary systems. Watch the primary and secondary air pressure gauges (or needles, if the system has two needles in one gauge). Pay attention to the low air pressure warning light and buzzer. The warning light and buzzer should shut off when air pressure in both systems rises to a value set by the manufacturer. This value must be greater than 60 PSI. The warning light and buzzer should come on before the air pressure drops below 60 PSI in either system. If this happens while driving, you should stop right away and safely park the vehicle. If one air system is very low on pressure, either the front or the rear brakes will not be operating fully. This means it will take you longer to stop. Bring the vehicle to a safe stop, and have the air brakes system fixed.

What you need to do is look at Figure 1.2 in Section 1 of your state's CDL manual. Figure 1.2 tells you what you need to study based on what type of commercial motor vehicle you will be operating. I take it that if you are studying for the written air brakes exam, that you want a Class "A" CDL, so you will also be needing to study Section 6, Combination Vehicles.
