I'm looking to get my CDL in October, going to Missouri with a friend to train through Prime and my god I gotta say there is so much to learn. Feeling a bit overwhelmed, lol. I have from now until I reach Missouri, than Prime's training is like 4 to 5 weeks before I get my CDL Permit. So I have time and I'm watching these videos frequently. So far I seem to have much of the GK down and now i'm working on the Breaks Section. Wish me good luck! :D
@BarryBranton7 жыл бұрын
Hi Patato Fred. The course of action that I'm suggesting is first, get your MEC, aka DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate. Then, download the CDL manual for your state at drive.google.com/file/d/0B4ayFJQLMK-DeWltanNJUWU5aXc/view and if you can't find it there, look in the description for this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/o4S1YpyVadinjMkm37s Once you have the CDL manual for your state, check out Figure 1.2 or the "What Sections to Study" Chart in Section 1 (Introduction) of your state's CDL manual. You need to determine (in addition to the CDL General Knowledge exam) what class of CDL that you want and what endorsement exams (For example: Air Brakes) that you'll need to be taking. After that, I suggest you start studying the sections for your CDL General Knowledge exam. My videos are only supplementary study aides and are not intended to be a replacement for your own independent study of your state's CDL manual. With that being said, I suggest you start by watching all of the videos in the following playlist. CDL General Knowledge Series: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pYPKZqOmiredl6s If your time is limited, then I suggest watching this playlist with fewer videos: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gGbSaqKdmqt-l8U Once you pass the written tests, you need to pass the vehicle inspection test, the skills (vehicle control) test, and the on-road driving test. To learn more about it, view my video, CDL Manual Study Section 1.1 Commercial Driver License Tests at kzbin.info/www/bejne/mJzZn4ehodOJfrs Finally, you'll need to pass the eye exam. Good luck to you. I hope you pass your test(s), and thanks for watching my videos.

Hello, Barry I'm trying to get my CDL class B endorsements for air braking and general knowledge permit in Texas, is this the right video for me? Thank you
@BarryBranton6 жыл бұрын
It depends. Look at Figure 1.2 in Section 1 of your CDL manual. For Class B CLP (Commercial Learner Permit) for School Bus with Air Brakes, you will need to pass the General Knowledge Exam for Class B, Air Brakes Endorsement Exam, the Passenger Endorsement Exam, and the School Bus Endorsement Exam. For Class B CLP (Commercial Learner Permit) for the Commercial City Bus, you will need to pass the General Knowledge Exam for Class B, Air Brakes Endorsement Exam, and the Passenger Endorsement Exam. You still have to take the Vehicle Inspection Test, the Basic Skills Controls Test, and the Road Test. These tests you do by showing or doing. No written tests there. See Section 1 of your CDL manual.

Compare your state's CDL manual with the Federal CDL Manual. They are virtually the same. The vast majority of states use the federal CDL manual as the template for their manual. What state are these questions good for? See the video at kzbin.info/www/bejne/oaKuoH2Xg62Ujtk Check out the federal CDL manual at goo.gl/FfkAAp and see your state's CDL manual at (FL) www.flhsmv.gov/handbooks/EnglishCDLHandbook.pdf Also, see this video about state manuals at kzbin.info/www/bejne/o4S1YpyVadinjMk Also, see the video description for links to your state's manual.
