I took my uncle to Bay Ridge where he was raised after he hadn’t been for 40 years , walking 86th street and 5ave he said it was a completely different world. He craved a slice from wagon after being told that it was still open .. when we walked close he stopped and looked at the store and I witnesses nostalgia in his eyes .. he proceeded to walk in and as I was expecting him to go straight to the counter, he stopped and told me that it was like he walked in the store 40 years ago , you could tell he got emotional without showing it, no way to show emotion, I said he was raised Brooklyn. He said that other than some tables rearranged which was something they always did in the place even back in the day, it was exactly the same and then confirmed that they still served the same solid piece of pizza … respect to originality and tradition.. that’s what Bay Ridge was all about back in the day and this place is still keeping it real!!

Nope. Back in the day, the ovens were on the opposite side of the store. So when you walked in, they were to your left. I know because I worked there making pies.

Born and raised in Bay Ridge two block from the pizza wagon. The sign of a good slice is folding it and the point of the slice doesn’t droop! I’ve yet to find a Jersey slice that passes that basic test. Brooklyn pizza always passes that test especially Pizza Wagon. I’m hungry.!

Pizza wagon in Smock, Pa is one of the greatest. Not related to this pizza wagon at all. The one I'm speaking of I'd score it at an 8.6 but my two favorites I'm Southwest Pa are Fiori's in Northside Pittsburgh, Pa scored at an 9.2 and Gioios in Greensburg, Pa scored at an 8.9 - you're welcome!

Oh and a little on the thick side for pizza wagon.. the one I mentioned is hella thick. Stupid thick. It's for sure thicker than this slice. One of the reasons why it's so great not to mention handmade, good homemade sauce but not tangy how I like it, like Fiori's and Gioios. Solid 8.6...

Bay Ridge Brooklyn is by far and way the most underrated when it comes to fake Italians. More fake Italians than Staten Island.
