Bart cab ride from Powell station to near Rockridge. No video near 12th street because low storage; no video near Rockridge because I had to get off the train.

My brother and I were invited up into a BART train cab when we were kids - I was 7 or 8. I'll never forget it!

I'm guessing the red is target speed and the right is actual speed?
@BayAreaTransitNews8 жыл бұрын
The red is the maximum speed for the area and the green is the current actual speed.
@NoddyMaccy8 жыл бұрын
Bay Area Transit News Yes, that's basically what I said. On London Underground's 92 stock that's how it works. You have your target speed at the top which is the line speed, then below is your actual speed. Thanks for confirming.

Bloody 92's. I used to drive those when they phased out the 62's. I loved the old stocks. Great fun to drive, guard at the back, great days ! Don't like these modern things they have now, they're so generic and samey, you can barely tell which line you're on anymore.

Noddy Mac a lot of rapid transit railways have this. It acts as a speed limit sign. The trains can exceed that speed (I don't think they're limited) so it's a maximum safe operating speed for that stretch of track.

The red is the advised speed, while the green is the actual speed.

But anyway, nice footage was this an A type car with the big nose at the front?

What about the new cars? They have Railfan windows too

Yes. The cabbed cars with walk through doors do not have replaced propulsion system unlike the other legacy cars, therefore those sound different.

Their two way works pretty well in the trans-bay tube with the Radiax coaxial. Signal is clear no white noise/static. I believe the changed to a digital system from the previous Motorola analog and later GE/Ericksen systems.

What a rip. 65 when the track is cleared for 80.

Now this is authentic footage! Did you put your camera/phone inside the driver's cabin, or were you standing right outside looking in through the door window?
@foockuu70727 жыл бұрын
Learn Through Music and Lyrics!!! Behind the window. There's no use of any electronic inside of the cabin.
@RohanTuli7 жыл бұрын
Yes, on the A cars the front window is larger, which allows for a good view from the passenger area out the front. Pressing my phone right against the window helped with stability and reducing glare.

as of today, have really noticed that alot of the train operators Now attach special Window covering to the window that we are looking through here, guess they are really trying to keep People now from doing this...

I like how the train glides to a stop. it most other subway lines they fly into the station at 55mph and have to slam on the brakes to stop. i think SEPTA uses the same gauge track. why is the train holding its speed back? says they can go 80 but it wont go past 65.
@lookatthestars11012 жыл бұрын
Assuming the extra leeway is there in case they need to make up lost time to get back on schedule, but they plan the timetable according to 65mph
@Rubycon992 жыл бұрын
I don't think any US trains use the same gauge. It's Indian railway gauge. The system was designed by aerospace engineers rather than rail engineers so they made a few unusual design choices.
