@healthpsychologist there are similarities and differences! We are more thorough with providing supporting explanations and examples (eg. d.pr/i/NgoULJ/eNhLvGYjSo - written by our team). We also let you learn with Netflix, but with any Netflix video that has subtitles. We'll also soon be adding support for any KZbin video that has subtitles. On top of that we have a curated library for beginners, and also beginner course material. I think we try to be more of a complete solution. But I haven't checked them in a long time, it is my impression.

I wouldn't recommend learning any language using dubbed American shows. Always use original German books, movies and so on.
