BART Offers Preview Of New Trains In Testing

As BART continues to test its new train cars, media in the Bay Area got a chance on Monday to take a closer look at the new fleet. John Ramos reports. (7/24/17)

@Angel Jose Mendoza It's fine. Most subway systems in the world have bench seats. You actually get more seats that way than with the transverse alignment.

Love innovations! Would love to pull a personal thought towards the seating. Would it make sense to develop seats such as foldable chairs off the walls? So when it's less crowded, people can pull out the seats, and when it's needed, without special need, seats can be folded for more spaces or such concerns. Or / And keep the already developed seats for those with special needs. - Cheng

The new horn makes me cringe. I wish there was a way they could "autotune" the old horn.

김주한 they just making less seat for profitability not meant for long commute, but 70% riders are long commuters, that means people used to get to sit from remote stations will soon giving up their seat.

Could be a while before you guys see those. The same guys that made your trains made the new ones in Chicago, and it was almost a year and a half before they were in full service, and even to this day, not all the lines have them.

These new cars actually turned out to be pretty clean. They're designed to be much easier to clean than the old ones. Now, in terms of safety on BART, yeah, that's still a problem.
