Funny that you are the first reactor to arrive with The Siren. Floor has only sung this a few times. But as others wrote...there are plenty of live performances from NW with high sound quality. Tip for the next song...Shoemaker ( Hellfest 2022) or Planet Hell ( Deichbrand 2022). Two recent performances with fantastic sound. Thank you for your response and greetings from the Netherlands

I have never seen anyone move in a more captivating way than Floor 2:57 . She is a true siren and despite the bad audio those vocals are so incredibly beautiful. Blows my mind!

If they want to Hear the Music they can listen to the Original all day long. I think that's the first time I've seen that, and I watch Nightwish videos and/or reactions almost every day. My biggest takeaway is that they need to bring that back someday, for a proper recording. Because, despite the poor quality, that was freaking awesome! If Floor wanted to lure me out to sea, to steal my soul, it would be totally worth it! Totally different subject matter, but I'm really reminded of "Sahara," which has at least one proper recording. The way Floor uses her body language to tell the story gives me similar vibes. Sahara live is also freaking awesome.

Celtic and Finnish folk story influences, and characters such as sultry mermaids, are common in Nightwish music, particularly the earlier songs. There is a backing track with additional vocals (and maybe other ocean sounds?) which really add to the vocal mix. I think I get a kind of middle eastern vibe as well.

And this children is why you should always have the concert recording for a video shouldn't use the same audio mix as the house speakers, bass has to be that high for it to balance out on what sounds right in person but doesn't do well for a video/live recording

This is one song where I prefer Tarja's vocals over Floor's. The live version from End of an Era is awesome. There ia good audio quality version video with Floor put together by a South American collective of Nighhtwish fans. Not all live video but some live shots incuding a closeup of Floor where you can see her amazing breath control and support.

She is considered the greatest performer in Brazil, and one of the few who don't use playback, her face is swollen because she contracted Covid 4 times and her blood was clotting, but even so she managed to record this DVD, like almost 50 years.

Hi there, "The Siren" is my favorite Nightwish song. I'm begging you to the experience the *End of an Era* live performance instead. I consider the End of an Era version to be the definitive performance of the song, better than any other live performance and better than the studio album version. Have a lovely day.

If you pull up NIGHTWISH KZbin channel they have this song live their ,and a lot more. Floor Jansen also has a KZbin channel. She done a lot of cover songs dearing covid. Very good ones, she has horses, dogs and cats, a little farm. Check it out.

So sad about the poor fan cam audio. I have seen many fan cams with great audio, but unfortunately this was not one of them. Floor is a Siren for sure and I have seen Tarja's live version, but I think Floor makes it more haunting and aluring as a siren would be. "The Siren" was originally performed by thier 1st singer Tarja Turunen. There's a much better live performance by her titled "Nightwish - The Siren (End Of An Era DVD) [HD] ". This version with Floor is a fan made video with really terrible audio, but this one is so much better from that same live show: Nightwish - The Siren (Floor Jansen), video/audio synced. Whoever gave you this awful live video performance of "The Siren" should be ashamed of his/her self.

Yeah, Floor struggles with this one. It's just not her style of singing. Floor is more of a rock/metal style singer and this song require a bit of something else. Anyway, Tarja ruled on this song, as well as most of the others from this era. Tarja's classical training really shows on these older Nightwish songs.

@@AmericansLearn Wishes to eternity, End of an Era, as well as many of their live performances from the 2000-2005 period. Those were Epic, and illustrate the pinnacle of Nightwish. They are still a great band, but they'll never match those days.
