Very cool Mark Bell is a beast but not a meat head type of dude at all. Super detailed tutorial. Probably the best one I’ve watched 🔥

Any thoughts on having a straight up and down bar path to reduce range of motion versus having the bar path shown in the video where the arch comes up towards the rack?

I get extreme pain in my elbows when I bench around the 225 and up mark. I was hitting 225 for reps of 10, but my elbows are crushed. Is it time to get elbow wraps?

Do you happen to also be squatting on the same day or before bench day?
@justamustachewithoutaguy93703 жыл бұрын
in my experience, elbow sleeves are great and really helped with elbow tendinitis. But getting my upper back stronger also helped with the pain, probably because a lot of the load is supported by my back , and not just my arms.
@nanogotsmano12853 жыл бұрын
I’m no expert but I’d say make sure you’re forearms are perpendicular to the floor at all times when benching and maybe take time to just train your triceps so they can support your elbows better. Bend your arm like you’re tryna bend the joint in I know that sounds weird but I literally just flexed my tricep as hard as I can to straighten my arm out and I felt better. Idk

Could powerlift setups be used to bulid hypertrophy body composition? I wanted to build a hybrid of the two, I know Mark went from powerlifting to doing a bodybuilding show. Wonder if his training changed. Gotta do a collab with RP Renaissance periodization with Dr. Mike Israteal.

My bench is hella weak compared to my other compound lifts... I just completely stopped benching after not progressing for several months.

I strained my left rotator cuff when I PR’d @ 315lbs and my coach took me off flat bench for 2-3 months, programs only had isolated dumb bell work and supplementary work Just got back into flat bench this last 3-4 weeks and I’m repping 250-260lbs after fixing my form and relearning my queues It takes time my friend, get back into it

I do 100 bench press reps but only at 30lbs on each side and it’s 10x10 but 5x10 are close grip and other 5x10 are wide grip I alternate close grip to wide 5 times each. Like I said I only got 30lbs on each side but I plan on upping the weight and getting stronger. Imagine being able to knock out two 45’s on each side for 100 reps imagine the volume that comes with that

If you did 5x5 with more weight I think you’d get better gains.
