WOW-WEE BART!! Those look amazing thank you. I’ve never seen this cooking method before, (except fish in the oven) I can’t WAIT to try this. Thanks again Chef. 👍👍

Hey Bart; you did it again; made me hungry...:-) I have a question though. The salt is used to make a crispy skin...right ? But then the skin is discarded and not eaten...?? WHY why why should one use this method then ?

Another interesting way of cooking, I guess the concern would be around the salt wastage but then you miss out on this experience. One thing does spring to mind though how this would be with langoustines or crayfish, never tried either as yet. Thank You Bart.

Hey I have a question to you. The prawns are obviously with the shell. The salt is on the shell. The prawns itself is not seasoned, won't they taste bland

I think that prawns and shrimps are actually two separate species of animals altogether? They look very similar but there are differences. I'm really not sure about that though
@singhramanjeet79

They are same. They just have different names depending on which part of the world you are in. If I am correct, In US they are called Shrimp, while in Australia, they are Prawns.

Sorry to disagree, but I've had another check since and biologically speaking, shrimp and prawn and very much separate species. Culinarily though like you said they're pretty much the same.

Hello, nice recipe and video. But I'm wondering about not taking prawn's poop hose out? Does it not give a bitter taste to the prawn?

Don't you need to gut prawns? Or are the intestines pre-removed?

I had a roommate once, we will call him John. I caught him throwing out boxes of salt one day. I said "John, what are you doing?". He said "I am throwing this out because it's too old and it might be stale". I said "John, It's a rock, rocks don't go stale". He said " I bought a new box", and he threw it out anyway A funny true story. Salt cooked food looks like it would be way too salty, but anything with a shell or a tough skin will not absorb it, and It is one of the best ways to make fish etc. Just remember folks....it's a rock :)
