We show a couple of reasons on the Cosworth and Isaacs A-series build why it takes so long to build an engine properly in today’s episode. Also, we have a delivery for the BMW E30, beautiful and great value for money

Recommend getting yourself a crank socket instead of using vice grips on a rag

Ready for Paint. Speaking of paint, are you planning to finish painting above the door to the clean room. Perhaps some nice white or green paint to match the FIRE EXIT sign.

I'm a noob at engine building. Won't you have to re-balance, the piston/rod assembly since you took material from the piston? 😕

Now I know why my engine didn't last very long after having it rebuilt. I wish I had you do the job.

Great video and that suspension looks very nice! Does notching those pistons for the oil jets alter the balancing again?

Why the crank so rusty? No WD40?

I think I've asked before, but I don't see you using any assembly lube on your engines?

Why not just notch all Cozzie pistons an extra 2mm during the balancing stage?

Good, fast, cheap - choose any two (from my corporate days). Does not apply to engine builds, where fast is NOT an option. Rather knocks out cheap as well, don't you think?
@craiglaing24175 ай бұрын
You can definitely do all 3. But, you’ll be knocking two off the list very shortly after the second time around.

Haha yep, I use it a lot when I’m questioned on pricing. Basically put it back on them 😂 I’m used to dealing with people that are adamant they know best and heard from their friends brother’s cousin that read a Facebook comment that it’s possible 😅

I’m drawn in like a fly to a jam lid with channels like BE. Something really satisfying about things being done right the first time and it’s refreshing to see them come clean when they cockup.

Do you need to rebalance the pistons after you notch the pistons for the oil jets

I love you guys butttttt no Vise Grips on the crank!

Yep, unless Derrick from VGG is involved. He’s the only one qualified 😅

Building an Engine properly is kinda like painting the Mona Lisa, then painting out the whole canvas in white and painting the whole thing over again ..

Should the RS500 block be a 200 and not a 205? CheeRS.
@georgebettiol83385 ай бұрын
Ford were not very robust with their engine block numbering scheme. Not all 205 blocks are the same. The more robust 205 block used on RS500 is easily identified by the small core plugs.

If true this video is highlighting some very bad practice! This is a great example of why the dummy build should be done BEFORE the pistons are balanced and where the engine uses press fit piston pins a set of sliding fit dummies should be used for the test assembly.
