More and more building automation systems (BAS) look to collect data from devices such as Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) or even control drives over a communications network rather than the traditional hardwire connections. To do this properly so end users have access to the correct points or trend accurate data, discovering the most useful points in a drive will further increase the energy savings opportunities with a BAS. In this video, we review the BAS mapping for BACnet points in an ACH580 drive to replace traditional controls and feedback as well as additional points that may not be as well known.
