Great review! Even though I did not follow every step on a first watch it was great to have the concepts spelled out in simple terms I could at least grasp the idea of. I've never heard of a 6-pulse drive gulping current, but I see that is exactly what it does. The take-away from this video plus conversation with you today is that the ULH (ACH580-31) IGBT rectifier drive with built in (HGL) low capacitance filter is probably what we should be specifying on future projects. Plus, for a project where we already have the ACH589-01 and need to add a generator, we can add the TCI HGL filter in it's own enclosure prevent the generator from being oversized due to harmonics. And I will have to watch this again so the concepts sink in a little better!

AI2 cannot be Setpoint if AI2 is Feedback. Dylan is correct. Stan is ?

AI2 is the feedback from the process like temp/pressure. You set the set point in the drive itself as to what you want that feedback to maintain like 50psi the drive will ramp up and down to maintain the feedback on AI2.

at 3:30 you use AI2 as the feedback source input then at 4:04 you set the setpoint source at AI2 as well. Is that right, or would you use another input as the setpoint source?

Yeah, I think he meant to use AI1 for setpoint.....
@StanWeaverCo3 ай бұрын
No he is using the AI2 for that. As long as you tell the drive which one you are using it works.

@@StanWeaverCo So where is the setpoint input?
@StanWeaverCo3 ай бұрын
@@briancollamer6384 You set that in the PID control under setpoint. It shows that at 3:50. You already told the drive where to look for the for the feedback 2:50. If you wanted to you could set that to AI1 but the drive comes default to look at AI2 as a PID loop.

Is the AI2 feedback signal not just telling the drive the current temp of whatever its trying to control ? When you set the setpoint source from constant to an AI wouldn't that be wired to a separate input from another source telling the drive what it should be trying to maintain?
