Thanks David. Very clear and resourceful. I ran into a few shielding issues recently myself. First field device after supervisory device did not have the RS 485 Shield bonded to the daisy chained outgoing cable. Essentially the following nine devices were unshielded and the bus was flooded with "communication" that was actually noise from the 10 operating rooms the devices were installed on.
