Yeah, the tool cupboard is definitely a required item. The tool cupboard is probably the most vital item in your base to protect against raiders when building a bigger and more protected base. If raiders own your tool cupboard you can not build or live within your own base and your own traps will begin to kill you.

For newer players make sure you place your tc ASAP. Right after you are safe I side with a door. Also if you want to bag a friend you can give them a bag that does not have a timer so they don’t have to wait the 5 min.

For the 2x1 starter base, isn't it better to have the air lock on one side? Having it on the end allows people to have a line of sight into your base if both doors are open.

Yeah, you're definitely correct. I Almost always build my 2x1 with the airlock on the side but must have forgotten during the recording and not thought about the benefits.

With the building plan in your hand hold right-click to open the build wheel and select your wall or foundation. Once you have the wall placed down you can do the same with the hammer to open the upgrade wheel to fortify your base.

demolish option has a 10 minute timer from when u placed the foundation/wall/roof and u need a tc (Tool Cupboard) to get the demolish option

I have a getting started guide on my channel which might help. As for finding ores try looking around rock formations and avoid open fields. Also if you are looking for stone rocks the desert biome tends to spawn a bit more compared to other biomes.

If you are referring to the code lock keypad that you can place on your door and tool cupboard then yes, enemies can use the keypad to try to guess your code but it wouldn't be easy.

A key lock can only be accessed by whoever holds a key or placed it down and I already said how the code lock works. If you are still talking about something else you are probably talking about a modded server with addons.

You can remove walls by right-clicking them with a hammer, however, you can only do this after around 5-10 minutes of placing the wall. If you can no longer remove a wall with a hammer you must either destroy it from the soft side or let it decay.

3 ways to break walls. Can demolish them with the hammer (Right click wall with hammer out and select demolish) if you have a tool cupboard but you need to do it in under 5 minutes of placing it otherwise it won't let you. Second way is to hit the soft side of the wall with a hatchet or pickaxe depending on the tier. Third way is to blow it up with explosives.

Two ways of getting the external stone walls. The first way is to find one in high tier crates like the locked crate, military crate, heavy scientist, and elite tier crate. Once found you can directly research it to craft it. The second way is to craft a level 2 workbench and go down the tech tree path to unlock the blueprint. This will cost a total of 1525 scrap to unlock all the items necessary to reach the high external stone wall blueprint.
