base coat on figures and some 1/72 Harvard bits

Hello Deon, Still Saturday up here, time is changing Sunday, "Spring forward Fall back" - however, Our biggest mountain - Mt. Rainier, is closed down due to snow as well and it's quite chilly rain - good modeling weather, a bit difficult on painting. I'm trying to finish up some 1/72 spitfires, a P40 and Me 109 so I can move up a little in scale for a bit. I'm trying to finish the Spitfires - one gray and two brown - and the camouflage patterns are a little difficult at that scale - I wish Ii had some Humbrol, they brush paint very well. Your are quite spectacular, I have never built 1/24 - they look quite detailed and the 1/32 do as well. I have some 1/16 German figures, one riding a horse - they are Das Werk kits and they are going to be quite a challenge at that scale. My nemesis scale for figures is 1/72. The Harvard really build out well with its unique aerodynamic features, I can see why you like them. I will be watching closely on your figures to see how you finish them. I really like the patina on a figure that size with oils, but that's a whole new skill set. My Me 109 1/72 is an Airfix, and the only detail in the cockpit is a seat, nothing else, even my P40 has some nice cockpit detail and its an Airfix as well. The Me109 I think is an older kit. Unfortunately, I have been a bit distracted, especially now, as the USA has been very chaotic politically. I've seen many party changes in my life but this "confrontation" of the parties is extremely bad - if one party wins, my life and the state of leadership and economy and global presence will be very bad. The world as alway ready taken advantage of our leadership - but I digress, I usually don't talk politics - but this change might even impact the cost of modeling, ✈🛩🚀. Yes its a huge thing coming up for USA, the biggest or most critical election in US History. I am following it and i know what you mean, everything you said. Lets hope you dont become a comrade, lol. Im busy on the Blackburn Skuas Undercarriage, remaking from brass, drilled holes, glued in, i think its all ok, only took me like 3 years to do the undercarriage on it - lol. Oh and chicken almost chewed through out internet cable, hadnt even noticed. but its still transmitting lol

@@deonjansen It's great to hear back from you, I was thinking of Chicken - it sounds like he has been a bad bird, they do love to to sharpen those beaks, you may have to get him a very large cuttlefish bone to work on, the plastic from and old Airfix kit would not do him well. Wish us luck, I will be voting and knocking on wood at the same time Tuesday..

@@c123bthunderpig nice video you sent. The RC cars are quite cool. I definitely havnt done enough with RC cars, and they are safer because they dont crash. Lol - glad you dont have to do another Guy fawkes. you can settle into some nice model building. I will do a video soo. i was doing touch ups on the undercarriage I added on the Blackburn Skua. Next to do the canopy frames on it as well, then paint another prop as the other one got into a small accident. lol
