Khan Kati Harrison on Saladin works wonders. Cheap repairs and no limit on the target you can hit as long as it lives long enough to get first hit off. Opens 120m bases in about 7-10 minutes

I always use at least 2 ships to raid. Reason for this is there's always some lag between going back to your base, clearing out your cargo, and being able to go back to attack. With 2 ships you eliminate the lag. When you are using 2 ships you want to keep the impulse speeds as even as possible so you can get into a good rhythm.

Yuk strip hability is useful after the 1st hit to hit twice and lower all shields to zero.

Khan, Joachim, Marla gets the synergy up to 100% is my preferred crew with no ships. With ships I go Yuki, zhoa, kirk

I have used Khan in the past as Captain but found him hit and miss. I have found using Kirk as Captain and Khan and Gorkon to be very deadly against bases with consistent performance. All maxed officers. Critical hits prock up and hull breach activates.

The crews and base info is great. But what about pre-tracking the base so you have a good idea whether the player is online or not. Anytime I go after a base that I'm gonna lose multiple ships cracking I take note of 3 things.... 1: player helps. 2: hostiles destroyed 3: titanium levels. If any of these metrics change before or after you hit, you know the player is on and you know not to waste your relo and rss, speedups etc.

I am camping at 39 like you are. Free to play like you are, except for monthly battlepass. I raid regularly, and right now I have 53.3B/1.2B/1.1B in station. My suggestion is to find targets that have 50m+ tri or 20m+ dil before you start your raid session. Raiding steel is not really profitable as you get loads of them from daily swarms

Disagree with Rev on this, at higher levels the events and dailies provide plenty of rss, I used to raid but haven't like since lvl 36. My bottleneck to grow is not rss, it's uncommon materials, which are not available from raiding. I would not recommend anyone in at least upper 30s into the 40s not raid until they have at least finished all the events, missions, and dailies they can. I get well over 100 million parsteel just in my advanced swarm dailies with Frank A. A fraction of the time it takes to find and raid a base. Not to say I haven't raided, was as high as top 40 on the server, but as more other stuff became available to do for faction stores, borg refinery, etc, my time was much better spent on other stuff. My power, now top 75 on server, has grown more quickly than folks who still concentrate on raiding and opc hunting and don't spend a lot of $$$$. Have heard at even higher levels the advanced biominerals give 3 billion parsteel daily. Would take a heck of a long time to raid that.

It's not about the size and ships home but if the player is on and if they have enough resources to make the ship repairs are worth it. I have repaired my Saladin 6, 7 and even more times to crack a base. But the millions in rss was well worth it the repairs. Do the math, I'm level 32 and my Saladin costs 350kish (I think) to repair. If the player has 10 mil in tritanium that's easy math. Now I'm not saying if you are a level 32 to go raid 38s and repairs be damned but don't pass on a base just because the ships are home or it might take 10 repairs to crack it.

Leslie capt... moreau and epic kirk on sides on a enterprise. Leslie adds hull regen (moreau only for synergy) and kirk keeps the shields up

Is base raiding even relevant for level 39+ anymore?? Unless you're one of these people who love to see your name at the top of the "Resources Raided" chart, I'm finding it hard to justify the Cost/Benefit. 1. Raiding is labor intensive. In a 6 man raid, I have to poke my screen every 30 seconds for hours to get anywhere from 1.5M to 3.5M on a max Horizon/Max Stonn/Exobyte enhanced. That's a lot of time staring at a screen and performing a repetitive function. 2. I can churn over 100M of parsteel just by doing my swarm dailies. Some events pay out as much as 800M in parsteel. 3. Territory Space has made most raiding targets long range raids - an even more labor intensive task with a lower cost benefit. If Scopley wants raiding to stay relevent, they will need to increase the Scoop Size by AT LEAST a factor of 10.

I used to be one of the top raiders on my server until I reached ops 41. Unless I need dil, I hardly ever raid. Get so much par and trit from other sources, it's truly not worth my time.

For base defense I found that using Pike/Mareou and Harrison gives 100% bypass. And that Picard/Bev and Harrison does the same thing… which I put on a maxed Sally. Also use TOS Spock/Kirk (kelvin)/spock (rare) on either a maxed bortas or Brel and TOS Uhura/tos kirk/khan on enterprise

Hi Rev, Love your Channel. I'm very new and just leveled up to over L15. I've scanned you videos, but I could not find any info on how to use the " AUXILIARY CONTROLS CREW MEMBERS " to backup your Shields when not on line. Do you put them on the ships that you leave on the Drydocks ? All on 1 ship or divy them up among the number of the ships on the Drydocks ? Also do they only go as Bridge Crew or Lower Decks. Looking forward to your input and Thank You all for your future Advise All.

I'm a level 34 F2P, not even bought a Battle Pass, and have almost never raided. I have tens of billions of resources, parsteel and tritanium. I'm not bragging, I'm just saying I've managed to accumulate a massive storage of resources by optimizing gameplay with events and shielding.

Sure, but there's no way that strategy will work for you in high 30s/40s unless you plan on that process taking 2-3 years. You'll need 10B parsteel to max out level 39 lol

Rev, genuine question - why does the base raiding crew matter? You need to break down the defenses but how many people try to do that on bases of players well above their level (or without asking a bigger alliance member to crack it for you)? You were 39 attacking a 34. You could probably have taken your Jelly with no crew and cracked the base. Then it's just running the miner back and forth, hoping the player doesn't wake up. There's never a time where you have to hit a base repeatedly (other than the first crack, maybe). You don't keep raiding when people are online because they shield or they keep repairing ships or platforms to kill your miner and you stop trying.

@@AoibheannNova Both. If base raiding was like an actual Raid in MMORPGs, I could see the crew mattering. But in STFC, it's just "kill it once and then spend hours looting." Yes, strategy can make that "kill it once" require less repair but realistically, no one attacks a base they aren't sure they can crack. You bring in someone who is 5 levels or more higher, they crack it in one hit, then you spend hours sending miners at it. You really don't need strategy for base raiding.

@@xaavik75 I see your point, but I guess it depends on how quickly you want to get through and start the actual raid. I raided up a lot, so as a upper 30s player (I'm 41 now) raiding lower 40s, knowing what ships and crew to use greatly reduced the time and cost spent cracking

Speed Crews, don´t forget "Kuron" Tier 1 +25% and you don´t need the captain slot Klaa + Kuron = +50% Impulse Speed + Stonn

Forget about Kuron, definetly. He's the most useless in Base raiding since you need to kill something first to trigger his speed boost and it disappears when you dock. You could leave the slot empty and it would do the same.

Is the low amount of unc crystal needed for your shipyard lowered because of all the efficiency research you have done up to that point? I say low because my lvl 35 shipyard upgrade requires 544 unc crystal vs your lvl 38 at 288.

Don´t use Mitigation Officers against a base, the Mitigation only works against the Ships but NOT against the DEFENSE PLATTFORMS, they have millions and millions of Piercing and not even full synergy 5of10 will help you

To me, as a level 47, I think twice before raiding. My maxed miner can scoop 6,462,500 per scoop. But is it really worth my time to get maybe 1 billion in about an hour? To me, I can buy 56 Billion in Steel in a Station pack. So, unless their Steel is low and trit/dill is high, then maybe I would go for it. But normally, steel is always high when I search for bases. I think Scopely should do something with raiding because in my server, it is a dying breed.

It's a dying breed because they want to push you to buy the packs. Its how the pull the cash out of your pockets. Much easier to pay then scoop. It becomes harder and harder to be F2P once you pass level 30 because of the sheer volume needed. Most players do a small amount of P2P like the elite battle pass but that becomes inefficient the closer to 40 you get.

Hows your opinion about raiding in general. I do think its way overboard and shouldnt have more motivation with a leaderboard. The current mechanics is like Scopely being in war with their playerbase, actively trying to fight the casuals out of their game. I'd do a few changes to a game to make finding tagets a little more challenging and OPC hunting a little different. I always found it weird hat i pirate myself through the game left and right and the factions (especially the feds) being okay with it. So things i'd change would be: -No remote scanning and viewing of systems anymore. Exception: An ally has a base in it (Sys Intel being fed into the Ally Network), or is Ally TC. This would provide more roaming through the systems and not just clicking around. -When you engage a player ship, a strong Faction Hunter will appear and engage you instantly so you have to make that OPC kill worth your loss. (Kinda like the Concord system in EVE Online) -Players/Alliances can mark Players/Alliances with red/blue flags. Current KOS just isnt enough. In my opinion that would make the game way less abusive to play. For clarification, i'm close to 34 and never was raided, i like to shoot player stuff and i do raid and love to grab the stuff of others.

More important than that, I think once you get above 30ish, the limits at what level player can attack you is too wide. It's almost impossible to defend against a player 2 levels above you 1 on 1, imagine getting hit by a player 10 levels above you scooping up 2M of your rss each trip. And you can never catch up. This, more than anything, drives players away from the game.
