So many tuning videos rely heavily on assumed knowledge that beginners won't have but you're doing a great job of explaining what to do, why to do it, and how to do it without running on and losing my attention. so I have been on the fence on weather to get the new HP Tuner and start doing some base tunes on my 05 yukon, because it's such a dog and I really would like to learn how to do this. Well Looking through the HpTuner website I got very little help for anything to be honest, just a lot of attitude about how I don't know anything. No kidding that's the whole idea of starting something new, to learn. I would just like to say that after watching just this one video you did, I feel more enclinded to go ahead and spend the cash and get some experience doing this. I greatly appreciate you taking the time to do this for all the people like me.

I took a stock 03 Yukon , and with only bolt ons (headers,exhaust,electric fans,CIA) and tune and it runs like a raped ape, couldn't pass on the highway stock and now will drop to second at 55 , snap quick shift at 90ish @ just shy if 6k rpm and is gone! Changed sum line pressure and shift timing and used bluecat shift tables . Makes my Yukon actually fun to drive! Oh and it's got 265k miles on it too lol

Awesome Video! Thank you so much! Can you make a video on how to tune a Gen 3 Truck Motor when adding a different intake (say an LS1 intake on a 4.8 for example)? And what did you adjust for O2 sensor when going with long tube headers? Thanks again!

Great videos are you a very detailed enjoyed viewing everything have one question for you since you've done this a long time what is the best way to gain fuel mileage? I'm looking to tune a vehicle strictly for fuel mileage no power needed it's a daily driver nothing crazy

Great video ! I’m interested in doing this to my ls swapped bronco. Not much is done to it. Exhaust: shorty tube headers into 2 1/2 y pipe and then 3” back with super 50 muffler 4” intake with a HUGE commercial type air cleaner for off road use. Emissions stuff all gone on engine. Current tune only has vats disabled and all emissions stuff deleted. I changed gear ratio and tire size also. Literally the basics to get it running. She smells rich and i get about 10miles a gallon. I am an absolute noob to any of this. Any suggestions over and beyond this video ? I assume it can be difficult without the vehicle in front of you, and I appreciate any input.

Just wanted to add how important maxing out those misfire tables are after a cam, not only will you through that annoying PO300 but you're torque converter will unlock at highway speeds.

My converter locks and unlocks repeatedly at 55 mph and up. The tables have been modified, but what should I be looking at to eliminate that?

Don't know if anyone is monitoring this vid but I'm wondering are these tweaks basically the same for a GM V6? Or do you have a similar vid for a GM Gen III 3.6L high feature engine? I've done a few mods on mine & have managed to get the knock out but that's my 1st attempt at any ECM tuning & it scares the shit out of me. To be honest a friend advised me of the changes which was -1 on the ECT Spark Advance Correction table so now I'm looking for more help in any areas that can help a stock tune. Thanks

I do not have low end power I cannot spend the wheels at a dead stop cannot foot brake to spend the tires I did the basic tune I did a LS swap on a 88 Chevy Caprice 2002 Chevy suburban gas or flex fuel I was wondering do you know what can cause that will it be in the torque converter or still do I need to tune some more please help

Just bought me a 04 Tahoe LT 4.8 4x4. I have HP tuners and want to try your setup. When I’m trying to setup the high octane table what am looking for on the data exactly to make the timing right in my tune

Typically personally I Zero out any negative data, from there with truck motors I usually set the high timing for 22 at the most. Then I usually add 2 degrees in the cruising tables to help with fuel mileage then I smooth the timing out so there is a nice transitio’x

That’s a gen 3 ls. Gen 4 ls doesn’t start until mid 07 for most vehicles

I have a 05 tahoe with 4:10 gears, stock gen 3 5.3 and stock 4l60e trans, i recently got it tuned and im experiencing a hard shift from 1-2 is that normal or do i have to take it back to my tuner to get it fixed?

Hey no sure if u got it fixed but I had the same problem for about 2 years I got a swap and tune done hard 1to2 shift torque converter not locking up reading research parts changing u name it I did tried it the fix was a crank relearn with hp tuners No 1to2 hard shift tcc locking up

@@bruceshepard1136 i got mine fixed already, i installed a sonnax 1-2 hard shift Accumulator 77998-03K Transmission Kit and i took it to my tuner he had removed delay shifting time from 1-2 he put a little more time back and it shift way better

I’ve got a 04 Silverado, I have been watching your videos for a couple weeks now and I was able to put me a base file together. I went write entire and took the file just fine, made some changes and went write entire a second time some thing made changes and the. Write entire. 4th time I went to write it I hit write calibration and hit write, and got unlocked timed out, lost communication tried everything that was suggested on a forum I found. Don’t have a bench harness, so I got a new one with my vin number programmed, truck is running and everything now. Now I’m scared to hook hp tuners back up to it. Ik this is long but any advice will be appreciated.

For example ill have it in 3rd at 30mph, stab it and it hits 1st hard and almost instantly upshifts into 2nd. Im trying to find a nice RPM, Upshift vs TP and WOT numbers for my 05 GMC 5.3 LM7 1500 4wd with 4:10 gears. I just wish i could find someone with a similar truck who figured out some good numbers that I can try. Thanks man, awesome videos. I would appreciate any help.
