Thanks for this instructional video. I'm coaching 12U Minor Peewee (Ont.Canada) in which bunting is becoming much more important in the game. Your instruction is just as we're describing to the kids; and yes well described/laid out in order of sequence. Just started primary lead-offs and the base paths increased from 60ft to 70ft. Bunting to advance that running to 2nd now a key play until the kids get stronger to throw out the runners. And at 12U they can't hit HRs !! I also like that the mention of don't be afraid to show bunt, cuz usually the other team coach is expecting it, just maybe you might catch the other players of guard, cause a scramble and get an error =D

Great video coach. The thing you left out was emphasizing how to properly bend the knees to bunt pitches low in the zone. Arms and bat stay in place and the batter uses his knees while staying in the proper position. Not reach down with the arms.

Hey I'm a sophomore in high school and love your videos. I have a question about the recruiting part. I would like to go D1 or D2 and I no many people contact college coaches around their start of junior year, I was wondering when I should make my recruiting video whether it be at the end of my sophomore year or start or junior or possibly even middle of junior year. Thanks in advance I know recruiting videos are a major part of introducing yourself to colleges and I wanted to send that with info of myself to colleges. I just want to know when I should start doing this. And one last question do colleges like recruiting videos with game footage or just practice footage. Thanks so much and keep up the great work!!!

Hey, Justin, no MLB pro that I know holds his bat that close to the barrel with his right hand. As a rule, they never go beyond the 18" mark. It only takes a foul ball off your hand from a 100 mph fastball to convince a batter to keep hands closer together. Laying down a perfect bunt is still possible. It's all about soft hands. Just my opinion and experience. All due respect, we could also hear MUCH less of, "Without further adieu." 😰😰 Much respect to your helping young players, though!! Play on!

Sadly, the pros are clueless when it comes to bunting these days. It's a lost art. Max Scherzer just busted his own nose in a drill because he has no clue how to bunt. LOL
