Baseball 101: 1. Line is "in", a fair ball still in play.. Think of the left and right lines as the firing range limits. The far BACK line Is the threshold for a home run... Think of that like firing beyond the backstop of a range. 2. No, you cannot wait for infinite pitches. Pitches must fall within the "strike zone" from the batters knees to shoulders and the widtth of the plate to be considered fair, aka "Strikes". 3. Three fair strike pitches with no swing, missed swing, or "foul" hits and you are out. 4. Four "balls" (pitches OUTSIDE the "strike zone") and the Batter gets a free base, "Walking" the batter. 5. A ball that lands outside the lines on the first bounce are "foul" and count as "Strikes". 6. Catching a struck ball BEFORE it touches the ground is an "Out". 7. 3 outs and the teams switch from offense (batting) to defense (field)
